I was screaming to do that trade. The talent was always there. The term of his contract sucked but he was worth the gamble especially for Donkey + Garballagher.

He's still on pace for 67-68 points, which is around what he normally gets. He's never hit 70 pts in his career. He'll be really close this year, though.
Why he had down year last year, who knows, but I think getting back to where he was is not a huge step forward. I think that should have been expected, especially since he's getting top 6 minutes on a good scoring team.
In theory, yes, but nothing is ever easy for the Leafs.

Hes been the mvp of that franchise. The problem with goalies league wide is that there doesn't seem to be the consistency that we were used to seeing especially at the top end, or goalies are breaking down quicker than before.
People talk about pettersson in Vancouver, but demko just got hurt again, and never seems to be healthy anymore. This guy is as good as anyone in the league when healthy.
Goalies are probably the players that make me most nervous in a cap world when it comes time to make a large commitment.
