The same guys are killing Edmonton over and over: Skinner, Ceci and Nurse. That 2nd goal error by Skinner was just  But, what the hell was Ceci doing on that play? Nurse on the 3rd goal giving the puck away with a soft pass to nobody. Just brutal.

It's not helping that Hyman, RNH and Drai are doing nothing.

If Skinner and Ceci/Nurse weren't such a shitshow, this series is tied 2-2. Oilers were better than Florida in the 1st game, but then Skinner/Ceci/Nurse screw job, and Oilers couldn't score on Bob. I thought Oilers played well enough to win last night. They dominated the 2nd period, and yet gave up 3 goals because Skinner/Ceci/Nurse screw job. It's just unbelievable how much I hate these 3 players, and I'm not even an Edmonton fan. lol

They are so, so bad, but more than that they're dumbasses. Zero hockey IQ. Actually, -100 hockey IQ.
That 2nd goal killed them and yes goaltenders can and do mishandle pucks that are ringed but at a very early age you are taught to get between the forechecker and the puck. The reason Ceci sat in the first place was because he couldn't handle the forecheck and was unable tie anyone up.
That play took it to a whole other level. :help:

Love that line from Maurice "Be careful what you tell them to do..."

It's beautiful to see a coach come to full maturity as well. Managing a team and building a winning culture is all about convincing a group of players they're playing for something bigger than themselves and the results depend on them.

Winning teams pretty much coach themselves.

It means nothing. Ducharme got to a SC final.

Didn't win now, did they.

And a few months later the team was so bad he was fired...

Getting it right vs getting lucky means everything.
That is the point. The players ignored Ducharme and got to the final. Panthers could be doing the same thing. And the only difference between the 2 is one goal. If the Islanders had gotten to the final Habs very likely win. Luck wins the majority of Cups. Oilers only advantage was at forward and all their top players are hurt.

Then the owners in all major pro sports are idiots...

Might as well pay a minimum wage staffer to run things. It's just luck anyways, right?

I prefer “favorable matchups” enable playoff success in current NHL - every team matches up poorly against a minimum handful of teams
