Yes they need Rempe. And there's nothing wrong with that. Guys with grit gives other guys balls. Who would have thought?

----------------------

Now as far as the KK buyout, if we would not have traded for Dvorak, it would have been a complete win. It is still a some form of win, although I wished he had stayed with us and develop.

Two guys linked with the Habs, KK and Dubois have a similar vibe about them. Both players I believe are at their best when they play with anger. When Dubois was getting whiped by Tort, he was doing well. Remember that famous lazy play? Tort called him out on the bench and Dubois scored three goals the next game. KK in Montreal I believe he was playing with hunger and anger. Willing to impress, willing to fight for a spot, sometime frustrated for not getting ice time. But I think it worked in some cases.

And then both players got paid and became satisfied and it was their end.

Funny how the Panthers went from a regular season paper tiger to a playoff juggernaut that underperforms in the regular season.

Trading huberdeau for tkachuk looking amazing for them. They were right to not bite on a huberdeau extension.

He did, but he also faced like 30 shots in both games combined
I am always hesitant to give the net to a career backup based on a few good games. Right now, Pickard is doing well coming in here and there when Skinner has struggled, but Skinner has been the better goalie, and has been able to have better numbers with workload of a starter. They should continue to do what they are doing: Skinner as the starter and Pickard there in case Skinner needs a reset, which is what a good backup is for.

Not having to deal with Tampa Bay certainly helped. Florida were a solid team and could have had success much earlier but they kept hitting a wall once they had to battle against Tampa during the playoff.

They did have 110 points this year. They were 1st in the Atlantic ahead of Boston and only 4 points behind NYR who won the Presidents Trophy. But yes...I agree with your point that the Tkachuk trade has completely turned around their playoff fortunes.

With us likely having Florida's 1st next year from the original Monahan trade, I wouldn't mind seeing them win the Cup next month, have a short offseason, lose some free agents, have a Cup hangover next season, have Bobrovsky come back to earth, and maybe suffer a few injuries. The last two Cup winners fell off quite a bit in their Cup defense season and never made it past the 1st round.

And some want to trade players like Xhekaj and Guhle.

Florida, TB, Boston all have lots big and mean players who are hard to play against.
You mean like the moron that was doing habs lunch yesterday with bitch gallo ? He doesn't even know if Arber will make the line up next year .

It’s not pretty but he gets it done.

I thought Mikkola destroying Chytil at the very last second and zero response from the Rangers was quite telling.

Yup, Rangers faced the Caps and Canes who are not overly physical. Panthers are battle tested from their rough first half of season last year with deep playoff run. They are built well and adding Tkachuk was a game changer.

Look at the Stars. Imagine the teams they will have to go through. Knights, Avs, Oilers, and one of the Rangers/Panthers. Will be impressive if the Stars win the cup due to the teams they had to go through.

Panthers have both skill and grit with sound D and goaltending. It's deadly. Rangers D and goaltending is actually solid but some of their forwards are soft. Very curious to see how the Rangers respond. They got a bit of a physical shock last night.

Are people really surprised by the Panthers physically dominating the Rangers? They crushed the Habs physically all season long.
100% - except when Arber played ;)

But the Tkachuk trade changed their culture. They got rid of a cupcake in Huberdeau ...
most of their top 6 guys all have edge. Prime example of a team built for the playoffs. Bennett, Tkachuk, Verhaege...even Reinhart and to a certain extent Barkov and his size.
Their D play with an edge and they have clear role players who can be physical or agitate in their bottom 6.
And of course, a goalie who makes saves

and Fla had much stiffer test in Boston and TB - both very structured, gritty teams
