Did something in the game I never knew you could do, never seen it on the internet either.

In St Denis, when you go to watch the miss margaret/magnifico show, there is a performer who will catch bullets with his teeth. Usually a stranger will volunteer at some point.

I was getting up to leave during the show at the moment he asked for a volunteer and I walked up to the stage just to antagonize the guy one last time but then it made me the volunteer.

I was confused and kinda high so I just shot the guy right in his chest. Then he calls me a maniac, that he doesnt have teeth in his chest and the curtain closes.

Pretty cool. On my millionth play thru and didnt know you could do that.
So amazing how you can just constantly find new little details and interactions in this game everytime you play.

I f***ing love this game. my 1 yr old had a cowboy themed birthday. we did family jeopardy, i did a rdr category and my 12 yr old (who played up to ch 2) got all the answers right

Its 8-10 hours a week of my life the last few years .. that shit adds up.

a bit disappointed .. found out today some ppl would choose exploding bullet and shoot him in his mouth. this last play thru was supposed to be my last last .. but alas its seems im going to have to do another one after this one

but this game just masks my drinking. twice a week I declare a "cowboy night" which is just code for leave dad the f*** alone because dad is gonna drink a 6 pack starting at 9 pm with headphones on breathing loudly until 1 am .. or 3 on the weekend

Hell yeah man that sounds amazing. Never played the other Red Dead's, but when this game released I went to gamestop on my lunch break, drove home, started the install, and was giddy the rest of my work day... Played pretty much the entire weekend non-stop.

Played it so much that my wife bought me a hand-made cowboy hat from Etsy to wear while I play lol.

sometimes the headphones make it a bit awkward

Yeah it's a bit awkward with the hat, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

I usually go with the surround sound if I'm wearing the hat lol
Agreed but its the best w the headphones, the subtle sounds you hear like different bird calls .. low grumble from a yet to be seen grizzly ..

Back wall of my living room is half glass w the sliding doors and windows that looks over a strip of forest and a ridge. Wintertime with snow is my favorite. Start a fire, play rdr while looking out over a my snowy ridge and deer walk the top of the ridge .. its f***ing poetic.

PS5 coming march 2025? I hope so.

-----------------------------

Got a new house, timed it right so I was able to stay up late and kill Micah and complete American Venom on my last night in the old house.

Wife was kinda mad that I choose Micah over her on our last night at the old house but she knows the deal.

New story playthrough at new house ... everything is working perfectly. Got Pearsons rabbit request real early in Ch 2, got micahs revolver, still very early just checking all the "early to do" things, only thing I havent done is get the valentine sheriffs litchfield when you trigger the hanging scene. which i kinda wish i had done now and that will grind me through this whole playthrough.

beautiful game

something about playing it at 1:30 am with a fresh old fashioined in your hand, galloping through a field .. when you have to wake up/work in 5 hours

Wife: "I think im getting a head ache."

Me: "Aww that sucks babe, can I do anything for you?"

(secretly i have a spontaneous marching band parade in my heart thinking I might get a red dead night)

Me: 'Ya know .. we dont have to watch House of Dragon, you can just go to bed and get some rest."

Wife: "No I think Ill be able to manage"

Me: "Okay cool ..."

(secretly inside all those marching band members are screaming in pain and agony as the earth opens up underneath them and a huge hand of Satan drags their souls to the hell below)

Started playing again and the wide variety of options remains amazing. You could just be riding your horse to a mission and a woman will yell out for help. Then when you approach her two Lemoyne raiders jump out and start shooting.

My favorite is to approach random strangers out in the wild. When they threaten to inflict harm on me for being overly friendly I start fistfighting

Oh yeah, I was riding by a guy who was trying to get rid of a body, he told me to mind my own business and I beat him and threw both bodies in the water. Leave no evidence

Agreed about the random strangers in the wild. The horse races, the photographer, shooting challenges, and even just random people calling out to you for whatever reason. It makes the environment feel so alive and can easily sidetrack you for hours.

I'm usually partial to lassoing and dragging those guys through the wilderness when folks get disrespectful lol. I like to hogtie them and find a nice stream or a cliff.

When campers get all aggro when I approach or ride by their camp, I'm fond of hogtying them and throwing them onto their own campfire to burn to death

For the first time in its storied legacy, John Marston’s beloved journey can be experienced on PC in stunning, new detail, with both RED DEAD REDEMPTION and its iconic zombie-horror companion story, UNDEAD NIGHTMARE, arriving to PC on October 29 with a host of PC-specific features.

It's about time. The game is 14 years old. I've been curious about the franchise, but still haven't played the sequel, despite it being on PC, because I prefer to start with the originals (which goes for games and movies). Now, I'll finally be able to play them in order and see what all of the praise for the franchise is about.

Edit: I was just reminded that the series actually started with Red Dead Revolver, so RDR is the second film of the series. So much for playing them in order. Oh well.

^Red 2 is actually a prequel but maybe you know that already
I did not. Maybe that would've factored, but I'm a pretty big proponent of playing/watching things in release order rather than story order (ex. Star Wars OT before PT), so I still want to play RDR before RDR 2. Besides, it should be easier to enjoy the dated graphics if I'm not used to the updated ones.

I never played rdr so I'm excited to slowly work though rdr2 and move on to RDR. my only concern is if RDR will be a bugged port

There are 2 really hard to find/trigger side missions/things

1. Strawberry - ppl are looking for a guy and you can find him hiding in the outhouse

2. the Giant - follow a flock of birds outside the reservation .. really far for a long time and you cant lose sight of them, eventually you hear a voice of a giant behind a blocked cave

The giant you can trigger pretty easy (google) but the strawberry outhouse one .. I think Ive only seen it twice out of 10 plus playthroughs
