HF Habs: Out of Town Thread: 2024-2025 season

Saw one a few years back, that was connected to the habs site..........oh my what a donkeys cesspool of behavior on that one.............
When this site goes down, we lose our hockey content of current events, and it's a very strange feeling eh.........lol
We all have the same reaction we scour every site possible to find the story that broke HF.

Looking at the 2023 draft right now for fun. I know some folks are mad about the Reinbacher pick, myself I have some doubts and liked other players, but what can you do. That said, grass is always greener. There are some picks that are already proving to be pretty meh... then there's the Winnipeg pick. Holy f***. Colby Barlow.

He's literally regressing every year since. Guys like Bonk, Perreault, Molendyk, Musty were drafted after him. He had a very good draft year so I'm not dunking on the Jets scouts on this one but damn...

There's no alternative to this board. It's a good board. I would pay for a no ads subscription if it existed.
I used to get very upset at what i felt was over moderation but as you said there is no alternative, so instead of getting into it with posters now i just add them to the ignorant list. Think I’m at 130 or something. Mostly anti habs/oilers trolls

Not surprised he is declining, Barlow was like 35 when he got drafted.

Something must be going with Barlow. He should be much better

I was in grade 8 at the time the whole run was just crazy. iirc habs were an underdog to the up and coming nordiques, sabres were an underdog to the bruins, and of course the islanders to the penguins.

I think even los angeles was a weaker team than toronto to face in the finals.

I really wished we had faced the Leafs that year. With Burns and so forth it would have been insane. Although with Gilmour and Clarke, it would have been harder to win.

The league let Kaspiritus mug Mario. It was a joke.

Under today’s rules Mario would be unstoppable. He’s absolutely re-write the record book. The league let him be hooked and grabbed to a ridiculous extent.

Also I feel like the Pens were terrible at protecting Mario.

TBF, they were coming off winning 2 straight cups, which had to have taken a massive toll already. Playoffs were pretty brutal back then, especially the first round. The Pens were probably ripe for the picking and the Isles had a feisty team who took it to them pretty hard. We got them without Turgeon in the CF, which made it much easier, thanks to Dale Hunter being a dirty SOB.

With all the crap he did to us, he owed it to us to do that. :D

Checking out the standings & I didn't realize Flyers fell that much. They were around WC2 for majority of season it seemed. Now they're 2nd worst team in East (15th out of 16) & are only 3-6-1 in last 10.
