Hurricanes forecheck/cycle game looks like an absolute pain to play against.

And Point with the sick goal in the clutch. Tampa wins.

I don't blame them, Ziba is a good player but that contract is going to scare everyone away..

Rags blowing a 3-0 lead tonight, how much longer before they blow it all up!! Can't wait!!
Dolan won’t allow NYR to rebuild again.

I expect both NYR and Bruins to make desperation moves fairly soon. Drury & Sweeney are on the hot seat …

Marchenko/Voronkov train won't stop.

Incredible players Moneyhands is perfect for them.

Not Timmins picks he was still with the Habs.

Weber contract caused contract length to be reduced to 7-8 years.

The rumors a few months ago was that the league directors/GMs wanted to reduce max contract length to 5 years in the next CBA. And the differed money clause will probably be removed or limited too.
Why would GMs want that? Let players sign for however long they want. I would eliminate bonuses, differed salary, and variable actual salary from year to year. Cap hit = what you actually pay the player for however long you want to sign them. That would end a lot of nonsense.

In addition to this, I would adjust cap limits according to taxation so the playing field is equal. You want to play in tax friendly Florida, that is fine. We can pay the same player more to compensate. It shouldnt be difficult to create an algorithm that takes into account net salary for all nhl club locations so that teams in higher tax regions can attract and keep players.
