This is absolutely blowing up in Vancouver right now by the way.
Looks like Pettersson is available
Allvin went on blast basically, Not sure what you guys would offer, or how seriously you would be interested, He would obviously need a Haul.
But, just thought I would share and get your guys opinions!
Not everyday a 90+ Center with great Defensive abilities becomes available.

Thoughts?

That is one of the most candid interviews I've read from a GM about his team in mid-season. Normally GMs are trying to conceal their thinking as much as possible with boilerplate replies. I guess Peterson must be playing terribly. And the GM obviously finds his attitude unprofessional. Still, surprised to just state this publicly. Given he deliberately devalued his guy, and wants to win now, I'm guessing he has no intention of trading him and that this was a ploy to get Peterson going. I mean if he could get equal value he would trade but the only kind of player of equal value he could get is for another underperforming player of the same level. Not many of those. There will be no trade, at least not until cup window closes.

Is Pettersson a 90+ point centre?
Right now he's on pace for 67, which is the PPG of his first four seasons in a row. 5 of his 7 professional season had a 67 point pace (give or take 1 point).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the prevailing thinking that he's suffering from post-concussion or some other lingering injury issue late in the 23-24 season (before his new contract kicked in)? In the current discourse, when did the drop-off occur?

In the interview Allvin seems to imply that he's allowed the pressure to get to him and Petey seemingly turned inward instead of embracing the situation. If the case is that he's just intimidated by the expectations, I'd be more open to acquiring him and giving him a new challenge and new environment.

Best part is this: "Allvin: Yes, 100 per cent the hardest one. We're up 4-1 with five minutes to play. Like, why is it? Is it the pressure that hits the players? That's something that Toc always talks about, meeting pressure with pressure. And I think in those environments, you should thrive, like, ‘Let's lock down the game here."

Emphasis mine. I think this is a GM who thinks he has assembled a team that should be performing better than this and he's frustrated that they can't hit a higher gear. He's not mad, he's disappointed. He wants to hit a higher level of performance and wants to see his team get there. I love this. He wants his team to play playoff quality hockey. Habs fans should keep an eye on this.

There is a range between Losing Culture and Winning Culture and the Canucks have not yet arrived the latter but they're starting to get worried about it.

I also liked this part: "Allvin: Our identity has been very vague this (season). It hasn't been a clear path. If you don't have that, success is not sustainable long term. So what I would say is, I would like to see us playing our style and brand of hockey on a more consistent basis. I don't like to drive to the game and I don't know what I'm going to get. We need to play a certain way every night to be successful, and when we do, we're a good team. I would like to see us find our identity and consistency more. And then everything else will take care of itself."

As a Habs fan, I have to ask: what is the Habs' identity?

Why the ***** would the Habs want to trade for a guy that had his coach and now his GM refer publicly to as an overpaid immature soft baby loser (in more polite ways)?

The Habs locker room is made of winners and players who play for each others. EP is the total opposite of that.

Stevie Y was once referred to in much the same manner by a HOF coach & GM.

People can mature & grow, just sayin..

Would love it but if the Canucks are looking to win now, then I don’t think the Habs have anything to offer that they’d be interested in (other than Suzuki, but he’s not getting traded). Our other most valuable pieces are too young for their timeline
