Quite possible that the Habs don’t draft Demidov if they already have MichkovBoy that Michkov kid is very good, would have been amazing to watch him and Demidov on the same line for the next 15 years.

Wish I had the graphic for the St. Louis/NYR game. Blues really dominated Rangers at MSG. Zachary Bolduc: two goals seven shots, first star good looking prospect for STL. See some rumours Rangers looking to possibly move Trouba and Kreider.
I don't think Habs fans would complain today if they had Michkov + Dickinson over Reinbacher + Demidov. Maybe if or when Demidov tears the league apart when he joins, we can all breathe a bit more easy.Quite possible that the Habs don’t draft Demidov if they already have Michkov
Having a discussion comparing Michkov vs Reinbacher isnt fair at all.I don't think Habs fans would complain today if they had Michkov + Dickinson over Reinbacher + Demidov. Maybe if or when Demidov tears the league apart when he joins, we can all breathe a bit more easy.
The issue wasn't Michkov vs Demidov. At the time of the 2023 draft it was: did the Habs want to add small, not very good skater Michkov to a top6 that had Caufield on it + Newhook, Suzuki, and a depth chart which featured actual real-life pygmies like Kidney and Farrell. What DR brought to the depth chart and DR's own skills and tendencies made him extremely attractive to the Habs organization. Given their valuation of DR -- they absolutely LOVED him -- it makes sense to me why they'd prefer to lean on DR over Michkov.
Was their valuation of Michkov and DR wrong? We'll know as the years go on.
The bolded part of your post is not the only thing that went into the Habs decision on skipping Michkov despite how many times you post it. There were numerous other issues which is why he was even available at 5 and eventually dropped 6 spots.I don't think Habs fans would complain today if they had Michkov + Dickinson over Reinbacher + Demidov. The conspiracies to which you presume to allude didn’t stop the hard-ass Flyers from chomping at the bit to snatch him at 7. With all the nasty things said about him one would figure he would drop more. Didn’t happen. The bolded part of your post is not the only thing that went into the Habs decision on skipping Michkov despite how many times you post it. The simple reality is that the Habs wanted Reinbacher ahead of Michkov. I’m certain they didn’t think DR was a lesser talent — what a nasty thing to say about Reinbacher. He’s a stud prospect who suffered a bad injury.Ah yes, conspiracy theories and tin foil hats...
6 NHL teams conspiring to smear a teenager so that they could pick a player they knew was the lesser talent in order to win the prize for missing out on a future superstar
Far more plausible and "fact" based than the simple reality that they passed on a player they felt had more flags than the one they chose instead
It didn’t stop the Flyers. But it did stop Anaheim, Columbus, San Jose, Montreal, and Arizona from taking who a lot of people felt was the second most talented player in the draft. That’s not a conspiracy. That actually happened. And nobody is saying nasty things about him. We’ve identified there were red flags that led to teams, including us, to pass on him and you constantly get offended when people bring that up. It’s a shame there were things teams were seeing that they didn’t like, but let’s be honest if those red flags weren’t there, he wouldn’t have been available at 5 anyways and we wouldn’t be having this conversation. The conspiracies to which you presume to allude didn’t stop the hard-ass Flyers from chomping at the bit to snatch him at 7. I prefer to deal with the facts as I have them. Michkov is one of the most maligned prospects I’ve ever witnessed — moron David Amber lied about his father’s passing (said his father was murdered) at the moment Michkov was picked. I can’t imagine how livid I’d be if I was one of his family members and had to read and hear this CRAP.
This full-court press of unbounded rotten smears is embarrassing. It hasn’t stopped Michkov of becoming a Calder contender and Philly esctaric for what he can do. So far the shit only splashes on the smear artists.
Until there’s some evidence or authoritative statement, it’s only fair to deal with facts. The Habs preferred to pick Reinbacher and that’s precisely what they did and precisely what was shown in the post-draft PR video.
