To be honest unless they were willing to fire msl there was no chance. When they do inevitably drop Marty we'll have a very weak pool of candidates like always.

There must be a coaching change coming to the Pens soon. They are a league worst in goal differential with a -34 on pace for a -121

I have heard on this forum multiple times that the stipulation for dubas coming to pitt was that Sullivan can't be fired.

I'm not sure if true, but if ownership is meddling in that way on a guy that dubas didn't even hire, that would be a red flag for me even before taking the role.

You guys need to embrace le tank and realise that's the plan. Hiring Montgomery to grind deez wins is not the way.

Marchenko ties it late Monahan wins it in SO. Both have 20pts in 20gp

Habs vs Jackets again on Wednesday.

A coach who hires his boss? That can only end well....
One of the conditions put forth to Dubas’ accepting the GM job, was Sullivan would remain head coach for the duration of the new contract ownership had signed him to prior to starting their GM hiring process

Bedard was jacked at the combine. Looks like similar heights and builds to me between him and Michkov. Michkov is in a hoodie.

I'm surprised how bad Bedard is struggling. I thought he'd come in and score 35 no problem right away. It goes to show one lucky lottery win doesn't take you out of a rebuild especially how Chicago tore it down to nothing. They have a ton of work to do.

MSL WILL NOT BE FIRED. They had to convince him to take the job. If he goes it will probably be a mutual decision that he is not the man to get the Habs to a Cup.
Every coach in the NHL gets convinced to take their job. Almost 100% of them still get fired.

Having said that, I don't think MSL's on the firing line. If it's to happen, it will likely be in the offseason.

What are you talking about? Almost every NHL coach had to convince a team to hire THEM. MSL wasn't looking at coaching. They convinced him to try.

May have missed an opportunity with Montgomery. We don’t exactly have a goldmine of coaches that fit our requirements in Montreal.

I’m saying the excuses doled out for Slafkovsky in his rookie season apply to Michkov too. New ice dimensions, new language, new culture.

Between Slaf and Michkov who do you think had a better rookie season (so far)?

Why don’t you compare him with Shane Wright instead ?

Every coach signing is a negotiation. They're not drafted. Babcock had to be convinced to go to Toronto but they still fired him.
