I never mentioned Reinbacher, I was responding directly to your post asking for a citation. This is also typical of you where you demand facts but can’t provide any yourself. You can’t prove he didn’t snub the Habs.
But since you had to bring up his name, end of the day, whether Michkov forced his way on to Philly or Habs preferred Reinbacher, doesn’t matter because both teams will never reveal it now that they got their players. Hence, the pre-draft reports are all we have.
Also, since I know you’re typically set on one train of thought on like every hockey subject, let me close by saying it is PLAUSIBLE that Michkov only wanted to play for Philly (as opposed to MTL and ARI) and Montreal preferred Reinbacher.

It's not even news. We've known that they met since prior to that draft, even confirmed by Hughes and Gorton. That's not even the point.
We know that he's got a history of being a poor character in interviews, brought forward by Chicago and Washington scouts. We know that he went forward with not wanting to be drafted by Arizona (can't blame him) nor Washington, as per his own agent. We know that he flew over to privately met with Philadelphia more than once at their facilities prior to the draft.
Yet, after this, it's impossible for some to wrap their head around the possibility that he swayed one way, and that that was seen as a risk from the other teams. Instead, it's everyone else who's dumb and biased against the kid.
Martineau throws an opinion tweet about Michkov's potential interest that goes opposite of what Friedman has been saying and all of a sudden, it's gospel.
This conversation is useless and amounts to absolute jack shit anyway.
That’s also quite typical behaviour. You can present a couple reports but they’re either dismissed because of “feelings” or maybe a counter report which conveniently displaces all other evidence.
I mean, end of the day, Philly got their guy and we got ours. I do find it rich however that it’s not cool to bag on a kid not on our team but totally acceptable to bash one of our own for like a year and a half.
Anyhow, as for Michkov, that defensive gaff at the end of the game the other night I’m not too concerned with. He’s like I said, a kid. He’ll make these mistakes and hopefully learns from them.
It means nothing. Kent would never say anything negative about a meeting. You aren't going to find out anything from HuGo. It's leaks form other employees and scouts that tell the story.
Kent has been coaching players for years on how to conduct an interview and say absolutely nothing.
Sadly he will probably get away with making mistakes every game while a guy like Frost would be benched if he even thought about making a bad play.

Definitely. Michkov will be one hell of a player, and good on him and Philly. He'll have the warts of a pure offensive player but the good will outweight the bad.
I myself even had him and Benson ahead of Reinbacher, and Leonard just behind so it's not like I did not want him nor have any negative opinion against the player. On the contrary, I really dig his offensive skills. My whole point when it comes to him is that when there's smoke, there's fire. And when many reports shape up a story and we see an outcome that matches the narrative then I give value to said reports. I still like the player, but he's elsewhere for a reason so it is what it is.
With that said, I also really like Reinbacher and I can't help but feel like he's become way underrated by many now. The injuries may end up hurting his stock ultimately, but it's impossible to put the fault on anyone there. And anyway, it's still way too early to even come close to a conclusion yet. What he's shown has been promising in my opinion so let's hope he bounces back once healthy.
All in all, I believe both fanbases (haters aside) will end up being happy with their picks in the long run.

The “problem” is that Philly’s guy will likely be better than ours - only time will tell but I think that’s a safe bet - and people aren’t bashing DR - not his fault that HuGo likely screwed up the pick - they’re upset with HuGo . . . everyone makes mistakes . . . but this could be a costly one. Mich and Demi could have been our Connor and Leon, Patrick and Jonathan, Sid and Geno . . . you get the point.

Indeed. The way it's going, Hiller is going to kick their asses after the game and they'll come out with guns blazing tomorrow. Habs better show up ready to play.
That's the concern...seems the Habs are rarely ready to play when the puck drops.
Buffalo might have a good season. They have a load of good players
Lack of self-motivation, which might explain a whole lot about...a whole lot (i.e. why they have no jump, don't concentrate on play, collapse sometimes, etc).
They seems to be a lot more interested in playing the big teams, than the bottom ones for example. While a lots of opposite players are always super motivated to play at the Bell Center, which makes home game harder.

Arizona isn't the greatest example of a professional organization. That's very low hanging fruit and there's a reason they are no longer around.
