I get some young NHL teams might want to add that winning pedigree/experience to their lineups, but I would have avoided signing any Lightning players to long term deals. They have a lot of mileage on their bodies with those multiple long playoff runs.

Players like that work great when they’re playing in their proper roles and they’re being paid accordingly so you can afford to ice several of them.

Blake Coleman and Barclay Goodrow are perfect examples of this. Woof to those two. Great 3rd line players on fantastic Lightning teams but now paid as good 2nd liners, which they are not.

It always amazes me how GM’s allow themselves to fall into the same trap year after year. Something about unrestricted free agency makes managers lose their minds.
Is this the worst most boring season ever or what. If nothing changes we can probably expect the finals be Boston and Vegas. So much shit quality teams and only those look solid all around. Good coaching from them,Montreal really should have gone after Montgomery being from Montreal.

Hall is done for the season. Wasn’t very good for them anyways in the 10 games he played. Crazy how the league MVP fell off this hard.

Only the BIG fish are worth throwing money at, mostly.
We did fine on the D market and with Toffoli, but generally I wouldn’t go shopping UFA like Detroit did for example. Or Calgary but they were desperate.
It's been a dull start then,better?,like I said,things can change but so far,yawn.

Anyone knows what's going on with Perry in Chicago ? I wouldn't mind having him back with the Habs.
Nobody knows. They called it an organizational level decision. Players don’t know either. He isn’t practicing today.
He's either getting moved or someone in the organization is pissed off at him for something off-ice.
Because Perry was playing fine (on pace for his best season since 2017-2018).
