Well I tend to agree a team needs toughness....I'm a bruins fan afterall.......but Carolina showed teams a path...not the only path...but a less tough more skilled and hard work path
They have some gutsy players though. And can dress Deslauriers when the need arises. I wouldn't describe them as a soft team, though they are not like Boston in the ruggedness department.

We both know that's not really what happened though, right? You are leaving out some very key points that we all know. If there's any animosity about the Olympics factoring in people wanting to leave Canadian teams as has been reported, I think people are fooling themselves if they think it is just about the gold medal.

This is exactly right. I mean, I bet I could name 51 reasons Canadians would have a problem with certain American players.

What is happening?? What the hell is Chicago doing, my god.
Final Trade Details:

To Buffalo:
- 4th overall pick
- 45th overall pick
- RD Louis Crevier
- one night of “anything goes” with Kyle Davidson’s wife

To Chicago:
- LD Bowen Byram
- LW Jordan Greenway
- Kyle Davidson gets to watch

I like that Buffalo team quite a bit. I wonder how they'll look if they part with Byram and Tuch. I don't like that for them.

Boston also has an advantage with ruggedness. It also isn't ideal for Buffalo to lose the likes of Carrick, Stanley, and Schenn. It's okay to lose them but they added them for a reason and the rugged play of Boston (and the FL teams) was a big part of it - the role has to be replaced to deal with the Atlantic division. They should keep Stanley regardless of how awesome he is or isn't, he checks a box.

It will be interesting to see how they look and fare next season. They have to be careful to not stall their progress or regress. Fun team, good story finally, hope they keep it going.
Well I agree and with this Byram trade if they just draft and don't flip it for somebody else they get another top prospect but it's back to future thinking over immediate and that seems like a potential mistake for them where they are now.

Carrick is still signed for another year but idk if we have that ruggedness advantage anyway. We certainly didn't seem to have any intimidation effect on them this playoff. matter of fact we had guys complaining about them in our net area and we didn't really get in theirs at all. Benson was just laughing after McAvoy slashed him. If anybody was gotten to it was us.

Lots of moves right now though. I wonder if Sweeney is inactive or if he's just being outbid and missing out on things. Hard to say.
