Dallas is such a frustrating team this year.

The ginger going off, ol spinaroonie suckah!

I know some here thought he was a dumb player but the kid has skills and I hate that Giroux trade more and more as I/we've watched Tipp become a 25+ goal, 50ish pt player.

Luostarinen-Lundell-Tippett could have been a really good 3rd line this year.

Tipps 18th and 2nd goal of game:

Have watched that many times back in the day.
We could have had amazing RW depth if Zito could have shipped Denisenko instead.

Reinhart-Tkachuk-Tippett-Samoskevich-Sourdif

Sometimes, for some reasons, a player just needs a change of scenery to succeed. You know the player has the tools, but you know it’s never going to work with your team.

This might happens with Lundell imo.

I don’t believe Tippett was ever going to work here. He probably needed another full year in the AHL, although COVID would’ve messed with that and we would’ve called him up too soon anyway.

There is some players who really got their development derailed due to COVID.

There is also going to be some Diamonds in the rough available That might have just needed some extra development.

Don’t forget the butterfly effect, especially in a tight cap league.

Tippett stays, maybe playoffs are different and maybe Weager and Hubie stay and no Tkachuk. One thing leads to another.

You can’t just claim everything works out. It’s just not how it all happens.

Tippett stays we don't beat Washington because Giroux and Verhaeghe carried lol

Damn, good for Tippett. I agree that the change of scenery was probably necessary for him. In a perfect world the idea of current Tippett slotting into our lineup sounds pretty mouthwatering but as others said, history certainly wouldn’t have played out the way it did if we kept him.

He always had the skills but translating them into consistent production didn’t really happen here. He seems to have found his game in Philly and I’ll root for him unless it’s against us.

People raked our current PP over the coals this year but I’ve never seen a top team look more useless on the powerplay than we did in that playoff run in 2022. Bruno was a fish out of water in the playoffs.

It took Maurice like 20 games to put Montour on the top PP, which was something we were yelling at during the 22 playoffs

Roy is back. Hired by the Isles as coach. This should be fun
Patrick Roy as coach does sound like “fun”, possibly for the opponents.

He’s impulsive and volatile but also did a lot of good stuff in Colorado. One thing I think he pretty much pioneered was pulling the goalie early like 5min to go even when down just one goal.

He won the memorial cup last year.

Yeah, he’s a good coach overall; had he stayed with Colorado maybe he wins the Cup… maybe he’s different today but before he was the opposite of someone like Jacque Martin. Which isn’t a bad thing…
