Knight for Kuzmenko? Only way I see it happening.
Would you guys actually be up for that?

Im mixed personally, still huge potential in Knight despite his awful start in the AHL and him dealing with mental health struggles. Not to mention his NHL sample size which has shown some promise, especially considering his age.

Bobrovsky is only getting older and removing Knight would make our goaltending depth nonexistent.

That being said, Kuzmenko looks very enticing. Nearly 40 goal, 70 point player last year. He'd probably push Rodriguez to 3rd line, maybe Bennett, and would in theory improve our PP. We're also getting him in his prime, albeit near the end of it statistically speaking. Not a big issue though since we are in win mode now.

I think Zito believes that Knight is the Panthers future long-term starter and he's not going to trade him away despite his struggles.

Canucks need an RD to play with Hughes. Now that the Canucks isn't a bottom feeder team anymore Ekblad might not include them in his NTC-list.

The issue with Kuz is that his shooting% was 27.3 in last season and now it has dropped down to 10.5. He's probably not going to repeat that 40 goal pace but maybe he can reach ~25 goals again. I don't think he'd be re-signing with the Panthers due to salary cap reasons.

I don't see Zito making a big trade of Lundell/Knight this year.

We're already a contender and likely just add depth pieces and he makes a bigger deal in July when he sorts out the contracts and who's coming staying or leaving.

Push come to shove I'd rather buyout/move Bob and roll the dice on Knight+FA to gain more capspace.
So, wouldn't want to move Knight for Kuz. And isn't Demko the goalie short and long term for the canucks?

With dare I say the system the Panthers run now, I would rather agree with @Jean Luc Discard and try to move Ekblad instead of Knight. But I don't see Zito making a big move during the season

Call me nuts, but I've done a 180 on Bob. I think that unless you get a very good offer, you just let Bob play out his contract. He's actually playing really well, has been great in the last two playoffs, and I think he's going to be able to continue to stay healthy, due to his insane work ethic + conditioning.

I'm definitely not a believer in Knight at the moment, though.

I don't think we should trade Knight, just saying that's what it would take to acquire Kuzmenko. Canucks could develop Knight and have him ready to take over from Demko or more likely trade Knight for something else. But it's only way I'd see the salary work and not disrupt our current roster given Knight isn't on it at the moment.

Knight wasn't a Zito pick and yes I know there was the big contract, but they also signed Waeber so who knows. I could also see trading Knight and Ekblad instead of trading Bob to make room for Fors, Monty, Reino.

1. The playoffs were Bob playing at a Vezina level. He bailed out the team in series 2 and 3. Played well too when Lyon was pulled vs Boston.
2. Bob has done well this year. Not taking anything away from his play and seemingly better consistency.
3. Have to wonder though if his improved play is due to better defensive effort in front of him with most players having now a full year in PM's "system".
4. A career backup in Stolarz has played well, sans that Chicago game, and IIRC for a 2 game stretch had like a .967 SV. Of course, super small sample size.
5. Not dying to get of Bob or anything, but curious on how much is the skaters, Bob or a good mix of just team gelling and Bob knows what lanes they'll take away leaving him to watch out for just X & Y.
6. Would be nice to have a competent defensive mindset to where in the near future the team doesn't need that legit #1 to go far, but instead a system that can get results dare like I say the Knights winning with a hot goalie like Hill.

Remember the team has yet to give up 35 or more shots a game.

Sure but in the past few games weve given up a lot more high danger shots/breakaways that bob (and to an extent stolarz) has bailed us out on. Shot totals dont always tell the answer

We've given up 35 twice, Winnipeg and Anaheim. But point stands.
