Somebody was talking about how the Blue Jays were unfamiliar with Cole Hamels yesterday....

Martin 5/18 (1 HR, 1 walk)
Tulowitzki 5/15 (2 HR, 1 Triple, 1 walk)
Edwin 5/14 (1 HR, 2 walks)
Bautista 3/9 (1 double, 2 walks)

I'm looking for Edwin to go off today. Everyone else seems to have got theirs so far, he's due.

That's exactly why I said it was interesting. I've had enough people say that everything should stabilize to league average levels and he should finish with an ERA over 4.

I've been pretty down on the idea of re-signing him in the offseason, but there's some pretty interesting information in that article that makes me lean slightly back the other way. I don't know that many people have suggested things will stabilize to league average, though; I could see him being a low-BABIP guy going forward, but my concern has always been that someone would pay him for the numbers he had with his .216 BABIP.

I think it's a safety issue, the roof can't open and close safely and smoothly when it's below 15 C. The roof should have been open game 1, no question, that was a joke, but today it makes sense.

For some reason BR stadium splits just use 'retractable' instead of open/closed

The Jays have a .228/.277/.405 line in 9 'dome games' but that's just Tampa obviously.

I have zero stats to back this up, but it was always kind of a given that the ball carried further with the dome closed than open (especially back when everyone was making 'arena baseball' jokes in the early 2000's). The ball flies out when its 30 degrees outside, but the dome open with it being 12 degrees out isn't going to help the ball fly at all.

Arash asked about his comeback at his press conference, and Stroman hit him with:

"I'm pretty sure you didn't think I would make it back...(uncomfortable silence)...yeah, I remember that." (uncomfortable polite Canadian laughter from press; Stroman dead serious)

So what? Most people did not think he will make it back, does not mean they were hating on him. Come on. It's not expected for anybody to come back that quickly from such a surgery. The prognosis from actual doctors was that he will not make it back this season.

I could see it. He had three balls that would've been home runs with an open roof in games one and two.

Regardless of whom it is, I hope they collectively lay the wood to Hamels and make Bannister pay for not doing the smart thing (starting Gallardo).

Even at the end of his recovery, Arash did not think he should start. Then, when the playoff rotation was being discussed, Arash again thought he should not start.

The shade thrown was warranted and I'm glad Arash ate it like a man in front of his colleagues.

No point in linking their online player. MLB blacks out all internet radio streams. You can listen to it on your actual radio but not online.

Hmmmm News 95.7 is owned by Rogers Communication. Also I've used this link every game this post season no issues.

MLB said it was about having the best conditions possible for baseball.
You say it's a safety issue.
I say the people who own the Dome should decide (their property).

I told my buddies at hockey this morning that ... in protest ... I was going to lie down and duck tape myself to the rail the dome moves on to protest MLB closing the dome.
Like this guy, but GTA style.

Surely some maintenance guy could find something broken and put the Dome Roof "under maintenance".

Stroman better have a good game otherwise we will have to listen to Zaun explain why you don't go with a short pitcher in an elimination game.

Yeah for sure. I mean if the guy is using that as motivation then all the best to him, go out there and do whatever you can to win this ****ing ballgame. But I am pretty sure he is referring to debates Arash et al had repeatedly towards the end of the season on McCown's radio show and the concerns over Stroman were legitimate and well thought-out.

Anyway whatever lets ****ing go boys. Been waiting for some success from this team since I was so young I hardly remember. I feel like we win this game we will be flying with moment and given the current field the favorites to win it all. Amazing.
