JBD and a mid round pick in like 2026 or 2027 for Höglander.

JBD is a solid #6 RHD that is a better puckmover and more mobile than the likes of Desharnais and Juulsen. Höglander is clearly in Tocchet's doghouse and thus needs a change. I think he'd do well with Timmy, especially with familiarity with Green.

Well it's still better than nothing and JBD is definitely a better player than Juusel and Desharnais.
What do you mean its better than nothing? And who cares if he is "definitely better" (arguable) if Tocchet doesn't think so?

More importantly, couldnt a ton of teams beat that offer? Does it even work capwise? I think there are a ton of holes here, as much as I would like to add a guy like Hoglander, Maccias, or Novak on the cheap.

Other teams would beat this for Hoglander IMO

JBD while decent, doesn't hold a lot of trade value.

Edit:
Essh... I didn't realize he signed an extension worth 3.000/yr for 3yrs. Lowers his value quite a bit and I'd rather just keep JBD in that case TBH.

Hoglander is a cap dump the guy is on pace for like 17 points and gets paid three million after this season why would anyone beat this offer?

Exactly this, no one is touching him in all likliehood. I wonder if a contract can be bought out b4 it kicks in? lol

I think Hoglander is better than he's shown this season obviously, but I'm also not convinced he's going to fully live up to his 3x3 extension. Senators are going to have limited cap moving forward so they'd need to be convinced he could be a staple in their top-nine. Not sure it's something I'd consider at face value.

Now if they could dump Amadio in the process (Amadio + a pick?) I'd re-consider. Let's the Sens go cheaper/younger on the 4th line and brings in more upside in Hoglander. Amadio is an incredibly vanilla player who is fine but might fit in better in Tochett's system. Both guys are underperforming, but with Amadio he's a little bit more "what you see is what you get" and the floor might be ever so slightly higher.

Just as a comp:

Hoglander: 3.5 years left with ~9.55 million left on his deal (Cap Hit 1.1Mx1 and 3Mx3) 43GP - 9P
Amadio: 2.5 years left with ~6.5 million left on his deal (Cap Hit $2.6M) 38GP - 11P
