Kirby and Colton’s brother or cousin? Gotta be one or the other since he’s from Fort Sask

92 points in 34 games. I know very little about the bantam draft but considering the bloodlines and those stats wouldn't he be expected to go quite a bit higher than the fifth round?

He's of no relation to Kirby+Colton from what I know....maybe super distant cousins at most. Should've gone higher in the draft for sure though but the WHL draft has quite a few kids fall that shouldn't for non college reasons.

Fifth best player to come out of the BCHL by point pace. Should be interesting to see what he does in college

Joining Hitmen next year so will finish this year in the BCHL and probably get drafted. This is another thing that will hurt the USHL as in the past players would leave the BCHL/AJHL and play a year(sometimes 2) in the USHL before going to their school but now the players will simply skip that step and play CHL instead before leaving for school

yep all these Canadien kids that would have to go ushl to play hockey to head to college are not going

I mean, I wouldn’t say all. It’s very possible some go Canadian junior A to CHL instead of Canadian junior A to USHL, but usually those are not top prospects to begin with. It’s not a huge segment of the USHL’s playing population.

Also, there actually have not been top Canadians yet who’ve decided against the USHL since everything changed in the Fall.

USHL usually does pull in a few top Canadians per year. If it was so obvious to occur, the top Canadians in the USHL would’ve left and they haven’t. Who knows what will happen going forward? The offseason will tell us more. So far though, there’s no evidence that all Canadians will abandon the USHL, just as Americans have never completely abandoned the CHL.

Some have always looked to do things a little differently, and I suspect that’ll still be the case.
