I ain't no downer I'm being realistic. This was not a solid win. Are you going to argue against that? Methot was ok but most of the team could barely make a pass or clear the puck tonight. I'm just thankful we have the very best goalie in the league right now.

I've seen plenty of lousy games with Spezza & Karlsson in the lineup. Being realistic, what does that even mean? Because they lost some players you expect them to lose then & when they win it's not a solid win. Isn't it fun to watch so many young guys get their opportunties & score their first NHL goals? Enjoy the moment.

IDK I thought there were a number of players on the team that looked pretty good. Impressive game considering it was a back to back against a team that just got blown out 7 - 0 and was pressing.

Anderson gave us a chance to win and we rewarded him. Turris was buzzing all night, the whole Silfverberg - Turris - Alfredsson line is really amazing right now. Greening had a great game as did most of our defence minus Gonchar.

Is it just me, or does the Kovalev and Gonchar experiments make you never want to get an old Russian Veteran ever again. These guys come to Ottawa on their final stretch of their careers and play by far their worst hockey. I almost feel like slapping myself while typing this but I would rather see Kuba back in a Sens jersey this season instead of 55. He is nothing what he used to be and reminds me of Jason Smith at the end of his career, using everything left in the tank just to keep up with the play.

I would argue that Anderson has been Ottawa's best player so far this yr. Remember Karlsson played a few not so good games, stinkers in fact but Anderson has kept us in every game. Over the course of a season that could change but to this date IMO it's been Anderson.

It's nice to see guys get their first NHL goals, but the last thing I would ever call this game is "fun." The only real fun thing to watch is Anderson play ridiculously amazing, but overall I say the past couple games we've looked pretty bad, or at the very least if not bad, painfully un-entertaining.

Not to say I'm surprised this is how we've looked, it's understandable and if we're going to win hockey games, this is pretty much how it's going to look.

Anderson is the first goaltender I can remember that I have enjoyed to watch for the Sens. I mean in years past we have had some good goalies, but he almost seems to make everything he does movie like. That one play where he stole the puck away and passed it right on the stick of an Isle and then made the save looked like something out of D-3 the mighty Ducks. It almost seems like his saves are scripted in how natural and easy he is able to perform throughout the game.

What are you talking about? He is about the only reason we are able to get out of our zone at the moment.

I wouldn't go that far. Gonchar has played pretty well for us for the most part. I just thought he had a bad game.

I wouldn`t say that the Senators are un-entertaining, but less skilled than previous Senators teams. The games themselves have a good flow of play to me, back and forth chances for both teams and physical play, as well as the fact that 1-goal games make the viewer more ancy knowing that the next goal will dictate the outcome of the game. I mean if you want to say the games are lower skill level than I agree, but I feel that the entertainment value is still there.

So making accurate observations means I'm not glad we won? I enjoy every goal they score, and am really happy for all the first-time goal scorers believe me, but tonight was as sloppy as it gets and again, it was Andy that kept us in it. Sorry for not putting on my rose-colored glasses and ignoring facts.

I'm okay with winning ugly games, they all count & unlike so many here I like watching the grinders score garbage goals & I like watching the Bingo guys do well. There were a lot of turnovers & the puck seemed to bounce a lot, I've heard that the ice at SBP is not very good, not sure why. There were also a lot of missed net shots & they hit a few posts again. Three goals when everyone was wondering where the scoring was going to come from, not bad. I enjoyed it & called it 4-1 before the game.

I`m pretty sure the games I have been watching the majority of defensemen have been able to make the first pass out of the zone, if not have Alfy carry it end to end.

I'm watching this Predators-Wings game and it's making the Isles-Sens game look like a televised chess match.

As others have mentioned in the past, Eastern and Western Conference play a completely different style of hockey in general. Its can be expected that a Western Conference game have a much higher tempo of play than the East on any given night.

Even if ugly, a win is a win, what does it matter what it looked like.

We have an ahl team, essentially. It's going to be ugly.

This is a huge chance for the young guys to learn and get better. Which is great for the future.

Win or lose, it's going to be an ugly season. I'll take the win.

I dunno what people expect of Gonchar... he plays like he has always played. He takes hits and does other things to try and move the puck. He has done what he has to do, not being an overly physical player. Methot and at times Wiercioch are the only other D-men that can move the puck down the center of the ice without causing a turn over. Gryba was playing it really simple.
