Miller will be a franchise altering player IMO.

Just listen to how people on Wisconsin/the Rangers talk about him. Reminds me of when Mahomes was the worst kept secret in the NFL. These guys are just built differently.
When you’ve gone 3 months without talking Football and you have to fit a Mahomes comment in where ever you can lol

It’s simple, big guys dominate kids by being big. When they get to a men’s league they’re no longer physically dominant...

And for some reason being big is highly overrated by the old guard.
Not standing up for the old guard but it goes both ways... if you don’t have size and count on merely skill, you can have a tough time against men. MSL, Fleury, Zucc all great players but not the norm.

Men w skill who are bigger, smart and as fast will make small players look neutered.

If u watch Buch you see this at times... no space, easily bumped off the puck, loses every board battle.

Now, that being said... those athletes can still learn and progress... but u can’t teach size.

Miller is a science experiment.

He's like a more athletic Kreider with way more raw skill.

miller is going to be the prospect who makes the biggest impact on this team going forward. his draft will be an important moment in this organizations next step.

kravtsov is legit but k'andre has a chance to assume a role on this team as a true top pair defender and team leader. he will be an instant star on broadway for many reasons beyond his play.

we've been waiting for him. all he needs to do is step in, introduce himself and do his job.

not to mention, hes an athletic freak and an unbelievable skater.

i said it on draft day and ill repeat it again, moving up for miller was one of the best things this staff has done on draft day in a very long time.

Well, it's sort of still a power forward thing.

You can be ****ing huge and be a skill player like Zibanejad or Hayes. I joked that this top 10 will be full of busts because they're all really big, but they're all still skill players.

When you're a power forward and you're playing a size-centric role, it helps when you can throw children around. When you're up against men, you have to have ability to compliment your size.

They're hard to scout because you have to differentiate between those that are talented and those that are getting by because they're big.

Non-PF's that just happen to be big are getting by on their talent anyway, because they don't necessarily play that game. For example, Dylan Cozens is 6'3" but that's not the first thing people talk about.

Complement.

Hey don't be hard on yourself, you've had a wonderful season!

That's what I like about Kreider. He leaned on his body a ton in high school and college. He doesn't really have a great shot, or good hands, nor is he a good passer.

He easily could have been headed to bust territory but he used his smarts and work ethic to make what he has work.

Tkachuk is just an insane player. I want some of what that family eats.

Another 50 point season. Not 40 goals. Maybe next season. Again.

What makes it work for him is his blazing speed and outstanding strength on skates, not his smarts.

Lots of guys have strength and speed and do nothing in the NHL.
Hey, just copying your sage input.

I only do that to him because he deserves it. He hates players on our own team for reasons that have nothing to do with hockey.

Ugh, this makes me a nervous when I read stuff like this.

Miller has a lot of great tools, but this just screams of us tripping over ourselves again.

We have to be excited about something. If that's how people need to go through this process, I think it's fine.

I'm a Rangers fan. I'm probably going to be disappointed anyway, so I might as well enjoy myself on the way there.

Don’t be. Embrace the hype when it’s warranted. Kid is a mutant.

I’d like to think my expectations are well grounded in reality most of the time. I tend to not do any super hyping, but if I’m sure a guy is special, I’m gonna say it with no qualms.

Or we can all just smoke and at least be more pleasant and chill about our day dreams.

I vote for the latter.

NY Rangers vape pens for everyone!

Woohooooooooo!

This is very true. You're not a guy that swoons over every player.

I think he's very good.

I don't think he's super special. Super special players tend to do super special things. Miller is doing very good things, and will be a very good player. But I've seen what exceptional looks like, and this isn't exceptional.

I feel like that's when we get into the "a bridge" too far approach.

This is fair, but not every player is exceptional just yet as his age and can become exceptional later.

Nothing set Kucherov particularly apart at 19. Sven Andrighetto and Dmitrij Jaskin were similar producers in the same league at the same age.

I’ll remember this post after Miller wins his first Norris ;)

Trust me, I would be THRILLED for that to happen.

I'll even come into the city and buy you some drinks.

I always try to remind people that even if I'm not convinced of a higher tier outcome for a player, I'm not one of those people who resents it either. Quite the opposite in fact, I'd celebrate the accomplishment.

Sometimes, especially when it comes to prospects, you actually hope you're wrong.

Few have CK's combo above + his balance. Can take a hit and maintain control and balance, dishes hits while staying in a position to make a play on the puck immediately after. So he's great on the rush because of his elite speed and excellent for zone time/corsi as well because of speed, size, strength and balance. He doesn't make dumb plays anymore but doesn't wow with his savvy or smarts either.

The only bright spot of last night's game was Mika winning the Steven McDonald Award. We're all so proud of him.

Yeah pretty much, although the Lias goal was pretty sweet. But the garden was out of it, like it was a funeral, and people were leaving before the 3rd period even started. I pushed myself to go, because it was not only a nice day to walk around the city, but also wanted to see the presentation of the award.

NHL Scout 1: How about this Miller kid?
NHL Scout 2: Mutant
NHL Scout 1: Mutant? Never heard that term used like this. Gonna put that in the report?
NHL Scout 2: I heard it on HFNYR. And yes.
