Hopefully we'll be better next year though, and give Marty and Lou a chance to go out with one more cup. Just weed out deadweight like Poni, and the Kremlin Kone. Try to get rid of Tallinder, but if not then fine. He's been pretty solid, but I just think we can use that money towards a forward or even re signing Zidlicky. Hopefully Patty doesn't wanna leave, but for the first time I can really see him wanting to go out with another cup somewhere else. Shaw can take a hike too. Let Barr run the PP. If anything this shows we don't need to waste our time paying somebody to run a ****** power play when we can save money and have one of the other coaches a run the same ****** power play.

I kinda like Sullivan (Other than his defense on the power play) but I'm sure we'll hear the ''We've decided to give a younger player a chance'' spiel again. Let's just hope that younger player isn't Tedenby because his time is up here.

What if the younger player is the Vulcan? I really don't think it is an issue of money anymore. Move Tally to get some assets back, or package him to get the forward we need if possible...but move him because we would be better served using his spot for a kid like Urbom or Gelianas. They need to start getting NHL time in. Tally has been a so-so player...which is ok, but I rather a kid come up and be so-so (when we have so many) and start devloping then keep Tally around. Volch has uses if used right as big dudes who block shots and hit guys can be useful...but Sal does the same thing and both of them haven't been doing a ton of that this year...so yeah that.

I still want them to go out swinging. Obviously this season is all but done, and we are now the longest of long shots, but I rather them win 7 right now and maybe get lucky, then keep losing just to get like three more ping pong balls. I don't see it happening at this point as we look so mind ****ed it is insane. Still rather try and hope for something crazy to happen...atleast until the E is put next to us in the standings.

With how weak the east was looking it looked like 52 points would get you a playoff spot this year. The Rangers are currently on pace for 53, but if we were to win every game plus those two then we could get in but for now I think it's done.

I think we are too, but not because 53 or 54 points won't be enough. I think the team is too down on itself to turn it around. If they loosened up maybe they could start rolling, but ya IDK.

All I want right now is to win Monday and stop this awful streak. Win Monday...all I ask right now.

As bizarre as it sounds If the Rangers lose tomorrow we control our own destiny against them less 1 point. We win out they'd have to go undefeated in reg in all the other games. Then Winnipeg is the issue...Pipe dream maybe but the red sox were 99.9% to make the playoffs in 2011 on sept 1 and we know what happened there

Stranger things have certainly happened. I do think we have the talent to do it. I would be just as happy to go on fire, beat the Rags twice and ruin their season.

I don't expect the Jets to light the world on fire, but ya the odds are REAAAALLLY long at this point. No one should expect anything but golf bags. Still until the E is next to us, need to keep punching. Would like to have some fun with the last 7 games here.

One game at a time. Just win Monday and end this losing streak.

What teams are eliminated now? Just Florida and Colorado I think mathematically.

Actually no one has been mathematically eliminated yet. Both Florida and Colorado could match the 8th spot in points if they win out and if everyone else loses out. They are both a loss away from elimation I think.

I'd LOL if Florida made it in. Too bad they don't have to play us a bunch of times with their Everglades loch ness, and their super duper backup Crapper!

I'm just gonna do a +, =, - to evaluate the game.

+Zubrus
+Henrique: Good backcheck and the offensive zone play is there, he just has to score.
+CBGB
+Loktionov
+Fayne
+Harrold
+Larsson

=Sullivan: He could make some good plays and skate with the puck at times, but isn't good on the PP and has his share of turnovers.
=D'Ags: He's fast and all, but too often he tries to make something big happen and fails. For example, at one point we were set up in the OTT zone and he had the puck. He skates it through 3 defenders in the slot and turns it over.

-Greene: Not sure if I should've gave him =, but he didn't have his best game imo. Still the best d-man on the team this year though.
-Clarky
-Poni
-Zids

This is not true. It would be close but technically, we wouldn't control our own destiny because the Rangers could still win all their other games in regulation and edge us out based on the ROW tiebreaker.

EDIT: Was looking through the NHL rule-book and Anderson's jab at Henrique should've actually received a major and a game misconduct (goalies are ejected from the game for a game misconduct). It's considered butt-ending, not high-sticking. Don't think it would have mattered unless we could've scored a few before the other goalie got warmed up.

Rule 58 - Butt-ending

58.1 Butt-ending – The action whereby a player uses the shaft of the stick, above the upper hand, to check an opposing player in any manner or jabs or attempts to jab an opposing player with this part of the stick.

58.2 Double-minor Penalty - A double-minor penalty will be imposed on a player who attempts to butt-end an opponent.

58.3 Major Penalty - A major penalty shall be imposed on a player who butt-ends an opponent (see section 58.5).

58.4 Match Penalty - A match penalty shall be imposed on a player who injures an opponent as a result of a butt-end.

58.5 Game Misconduct Penalty – When a major penalty is imposed for butt-ending, a game misconduct penalty must also be assessed.

58.6 Fines and Suspensions - When a major penalty and game misconduct are imposed under this rule, an automatic fine of one hundred dollars ($100) will be imposed.

If deemed appropriate, supplementary discipline can be applied by the Commissioner at his discretion (refer to Rule 28).

Had coffee after dinner so guess who couldn't sleep - so I watched the game. Lemme guess - Marty's fault? Lol. PP nukes us again.

My only player observations were;

- Larsson with his best game as a Devil ever defensively.
- Lokti convinced me he is legit top 6 playmaker and we should make him one as a Devil.
- Zids can take a long walk and not come back. Tallinder not only was closer but has a longer reach to begin with. Why is Zids going after the puck on his backhand when the faceoff was won towards Tally's side?
- I like how much crap Henrique can take without losing his mind, and he just plays angry. Just wish angry for him meant he would score more. When Chico says the goalie should be run, you know Anderson was a *****.

So 9 straight losses. Somewhere out there John MacLean is smiling.

At least the concourses and concession lines were less crowded tonight. And it'll only get roomier the last few games.

It's just that, once this season mercifully ends, the stretch of games he was at the helm for won't look so bad. This gonna be like 9 wins in 35 games or some such nonesense.

The quality of play during this streak is hall of fame levels better than the quality under Mac's streak. The team literally couldn't break out or gain the zone.

these refs were terrible tonight that craig anderson butt end was terrible

I loved how after that, a trip on Henrique and then a high hit on Clarkson, the Sens got the PP to boot. Wtf. High stick on Clarkson at the end had the red looking dead at him too. The Carter and Alfredson incident was a joke too. Carter didn't slash at all while Alfie swings away twice - no call.

After getting off work at 1 AM and finding I had flat tire I really didn't feel like watching this game. So I just checked the score, and I see the Devils outshot the opposition 33-11 and lost 2-0. Then I was stupid enough to watch the replays of the goals. Needless to say the weekend ****ing sucks so far.

I may have puked all over myself last night, getting way to drunk...

But still, I'm really happy that I went out, instead of watching the Gremlins get ass****ed yet again.

Lets go alcohol!

Despite being sore or some ****, Larsson played brilliantly yesterday, I remember that hip check he dished and another big hit which brought a lot of energy to the game.

Hopefully he gets some PP time now, he's our only big sized d-man, should have at least a powerful slapper, let's keep it simple bombing slappers from the point, if anything, we used to have decent rebound buriers in our team, something has to go in from that.

look, I think we can all agree that if Marty was a better goalie for the last 3 years, we would've won this game handily. damn you, Brodeur

This lineup wasn't so bad when it took this team all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals last season now was it?

I don't understand those criticizing Lou. When has any GM changed a whole roster after a cup run? No one saw this coming at all. After the first 10 games of the season, we were all taking about how we were going to defend our eastern conference crown. No one could have predicted that every one on the roster would suddenly become offensively challeneged. Granted, he could have made a couple of trades to help the team out but I don't see that making a difference.

The look on Lou's face says it all really. Shocking.

Sorry I don't agree with you. Last season we had 3 first line players (Elias, Kovy & Parise) and 1 second line player (Sykora) (you might disagree about Sykora as second line) Lou did not replace either so I and many others knew we would struggle for goals. This season is all on Lou.

Nine losses in a row at the end of the year.

I'm not sure I've ever seen an NHL team collapse out of a playoff spot like this.

Reminds me of the.....what was it, the 1969 Cubs team I think that's was so famous for completely imploding in the last month?
