Stutzle was brutal, but a lot of the Sens were invisible tonight. Leevi deserved better.
Stu and Sanderson are both exposed when guys can move about 90-95% of their respective speeds. Dallas just happens to have a strong defensive team that has some speedy skaters and an emphasis on stick play. The number of times Stutzle tried to skate around or through someone tonight -- something he typically excels at -- and failed was truly astounding.

Hard to blame Leevi for any of the goals really. Dallas is top 5 on odds to win the cup this year at most betting sites it seems, so I wasn't expecting a win tonight. The team played very well to open the same and for stretches even into the 2nd really hemmed the Stars in. That all evaporated after the 2nd though, the Stars coaching staff made the right adjustments and we didn't.

Stu looked horrible but why is no one acknowledging the fact that he was extremely sick with either a cold or the flu?

I would look more to the other guys who were healthy and seemed to stop playing halfway through the game. Timmy was at least trying out there even if he was struggling.

Hopefully they come out strong tomorrow because things can get bleak fast with this crazy schedule.

New York won and I have a bad feeling they are gonna come storming back in 2025. Theres too much talent in that roster.

Honestly it’ll be a grueling battle to finish in a playoff spot. Plenty of teams around us and all it takes is for one of them to get hot and we could be on the outside looking in.

Montreal is the perfect example. They’re 3 points back with the same amount of games played. Pittsburgh has been hot lately. Philly and CBJ are a couple points back.

Most teams, I would say outside of Buffalo and NYI, could take our spot.

It’s been about a month that I feel like Gaudette is just not good enough to be playing top 9 minutes. To me he looks like a liability out there. I just don’t like him playing with these skilled guys. He’s slow, he’s not strong on the puck, and he doesn’t win any puck battles. He doesn’t cycle, he doesn’t push the pace, he doesn’t break plays. He’s not good enough to be playing with Stutzle and Batherson and I hate that line.

No way this guy should be playing more than 8 minutes a night.

Perron/Amadio losses have messed up with the lines.

I liked him in a checking 4th line role who could shoot a puck. He doesn’t play like that guy anymore. He’s a non factor out there the vast majority of the time. I would rather pretty much anyone else play with Stu and Bath and send back Gaudette to the 4th line asap.

Oh yah and we wanted the big crash and bang winger in 2021 but had no use for Johnston or Stankoven..
re Stankoven who wouldn't take his 5'8 170 over Boucher now.

Going to bang the we need an upgrade in our scouting drum again even though BIG brain Dorion likely had his fair bit to say on that one
Highest drafted with zero NHL points in his entire draft

Dallas and Winnipeg were always going to be tough.

We hadn’t won in Dallas since what, 2021? And no Ullmark to save the day.

Important game tonight to get the team back on track and avoid stringing losses together.
We are off a guaranteed playoff pace of 10 points every 8 games. We only have 40 points in 37 games which might not earn a wild card spot. We need wins now to get there. Losing now will make it very difficult to catch up to the teams that breakout. We MUST beat Detroit and Buffalo.

Dallas is definitely one of the toughest teams in the league but Ottawa did not have their A game. 13 shots on net is a pathetic effort, especially when you're facing a guy like Ottenger.

A great start but then nothing but blanks. PP came up empty, no push back after getting down. They really got overwhelmed by the speed and size throughout the Dallas lineup.

Might've been Stutzle's worst game of the season. Hopefully he comes back tonight pissed, and burns St. Louis to the ground.

I never feel good about the games where Stu looks like our worst player. Just disrupts so much when his creativity isn't just not working, but actively shooting themselves in the foot, especially on the PP. Lots of other guys didn't bring it too though, plenty "blame" to go around.

Let's not overreacted after one bad game, as long as we are in the mix by April 1, then we play 8/9 at home to finish up the season we can, we just need to keep a .500 pace.

That was an excellent performance from Dallas. Say it was a bad game by Ottawa all you want, but you have to include the level of play by the competition and the Stars were tight. No shame in losing this one; when a contending team is on their game at home, you need a special response to have a chance.

Ottawa losing the last 3 out of 4 is not concerning, they are playing well, getting contributions from throughout the lineup, and really look like they know they can win now. They've had one of the toughest schedules so far this year and are sitting in a playoff spot with confidence and a softer 2nd half of the season coming up.

The encouraging sign for me was that even on days like last night where we were being suffocated offensively, at least we still don't allow too many shots or odd man rushes.

With a healthy Stutzle we likely do better offensively (awful game by him). With a healthy Perron and/or Amadio, we have better forward depth (but still not great) and can spend more time in the offensive zone. With a healthy Ullmark maybe we get some of the difficult saves that Merilainen couldn't make. And then the result is maybe different. But every team has injuries, including Dallas.

I thought for his first game back Zub played well. Nothing fancy, but none of those giveaways we saw from him when he came back from his concussion.

Dallas is an elite, tough, suffocating team?
My best friend is a lifelong stars fan who disagrees they are elite, they aren’t the same team they were last year.

The blame is on the team playing terrible, not stars being unbeatable. Can’t win every game, but if we play like that consistently expect a 10-72 record. Absolute embarrassment from our core and depth.

The game was super frustrating to watch, given I used brownie points for my wife to put kids to bed while I watched this disgrace of a game. Nice 10 min stretch in the first, but otherwise unacceptable game. Goalie isn’t to blame but was an average, much better than most on our team.

Bright side: Tkachuk and Pinto look great together, Love that we can have them as a duo going forward,

Not brightside: Stu and Norris were dog shit, and theat Sanderson-Hamonic pairing was impressively bad last night.

It wasn't great. I didn't realize until late that they only had 13 shots. I can't recall getting to the middle of the ice more than 6 times maybe and maybe 3 of those shots getting through. We kept them to the perimeter too though, but in the end you can't just sit and wait around, you have to score and they did a good job of muzzling everyone and we didn't do a good job of fighting through it
