Surely we're going to win our next game vs the Sharks and break this funk.. right?
We were supposed to win tonight against the Sabres according to some.

Really? I see two players who are beyond frustrated. I'm not excusing bad play, but they clearly give a shit.
I've only seen Stu, Brady, G and Chychrun show any sort of frustration out there.

Don't look at the Habs last minute, it will frustrate you to no end

Ok they lost to the Sharks but at the least the Habs were playing with some urgency and energy, they were really trying to tie the game.

Who do you think is more talented?

Suzuki, Caufield, Monahan, Anderson, Slafkovsky and Matheson

or

Stutzle, Giroux, Tkachuk, Batherson, Sanderson and Chychrun

This is crazy frustrating

It cuts both ways. If you're in the league and getting the big paycheck, you've got to do your job. It's one thing to use age for rookies and teenagers. That excuse doesn't fly once you're on your second contract.
Is he even on his new contract yet? He's getting paid his old contract at the moment. The kid is having a slump. He's still a superstar. Most of Tkachuk's offense to begin this season was off of Stü's stick. We need to lay off, otherwise he'll be asking for a trade sooner than later. Personally I want Stü for the long term. I don't want a situation like we saw with Eichel in Buffalo.

sometimes i wonder if it would not be easier to just trade everyone and start completely over.

Yeah we definitely deserve Giroux.

And as much as I too would rather he didn't have to play his last years in Ottawa, I'd like to keep him around as we retool going forward and add more vet presence.
Oh 100

But I feel sad watching him out with this bunch of losers who scream in the streets that they’re done not playing in april and are winning the cup.

Can’t believe I have been watching this for 7 years

I honestly thought we would as well, but this team keeps surprising me by how bad they are, especially coming out of the gate. There's some major mental issues going around this roster.
At some point you'd notice an uptick in a team's play where a turn around is imminent but I haven't see anything consistently yet. Bursts of decent play here and there but bad habits are just cemented in this team's DNA.

He's in his 4th season. He is on his big contract.

He was re-signed this summer I thought? He still had a year on his contract, or maybe i'm just not with it. Anyhow, it doesn't matter. He didn't have a sophomore slump, so we're seeing it now. We also have a very demanding market to play in, in Canada. We wilt players. We need to be more aware of our criticism of players. Stü is trying out there. He's not coasting. He's skating hard and trying. He's just in a really bad funk. Try to lift him up, instead of shitting down his throat.

Brady was a little better tonight but.. Giroux led the way,.. Greig battled every shift .. Where's this drag you into the fight from Tkachuk.

Stutzle is in some other world right now.
Batherson we need more out of him
Kubalik waiver material no intensity
Tarasenko pretty typical game from him
Joseph nothing much one way or another

Defense
Of the current Dcorps the only 2 I would definitely not have available are Sanderson and Zub

You want Chabot ...We will make a deal
Same for Chychrun

Goaltending let us down again

You know what would have made a difference, scoring on the PP, or heck, even building some momentum off the pp.

We got three opportunities with the extra man and idk if we got a single quality chance out of it.

It's inexcusable for the pp to be this bad with the guys we have.

Zero execution. Bad decisions. Poor passing.

I was expecting a win not based on any uptick or positive trend but simply because we had lost 4 in a row and the law of averages usually means even a bad team will win one single game out of 5 on the road, especially against another shit team, but no, not this team. This team is finding entirely new ways to suck.
