I think most if not all frozen pizzas available at food stores are horrible. Can't remember if I saw it here or elsewhere but somewhere someone recommended the black label president's choice frozen pizza, so I gave it a try, and it has to be among the worst frozen pizzas I've had.... Tried it twice just in case, bad both times. Do not recommend...
I picked up a frozen pizza the other night and it was the worst pizza I've ever had in my life. Probably the only time the leftovers went straight in the trash instead of my stomach. Dr. Oetker let me down.
I've been happy with the giuseppe rising crust. What type? Because I've found the Casa Di Mama ones pretty good.
LOL! Those are good because they are thin crust and I am all about adding your own flair to those pies. Extra spice, extra topping, etc...Only frozen pizza I ever enjoyed was this pack of 3 from Costco I got growing up, and then I'd add my own toppings to them. A good alternative that doesn't take as much time is naan pizzas. Get the Rivaj brand naan from costco, whatever tomato sauce, cheese and toppings, and you've got naan pizzas. Not as fast as frozen pizzas, but marginally more time spent and exponentially better flavour.
That said the Detroit style pizza they are selling at Costco now is also quite good, just on it's own.

I've never liked stuffed crust, can't imagine a frozen pizza with stuff crust would change my mindView attachment 1003924
This monstrosity. I take full responsibility for even getting it in the first place.
If I've got the time, I'd much prefer to make my own dough, and do it in my cast iron pan in the oven, to me that's the best way to make pizza at home without a standalone pizza oven (apparently the big green eggs work well too).Jesus. I will refrain from commenting on frozen pizzas. I am Italian and I cringe at the thought of these highly processed flat breads.
The best pizza I stated before is Pi Squared on Merivale. They now have a frozen pizza option yo can buy and bring home as well.If I've got the time, I'd much prefer to make my own dough, and do it in my cast iron pan in the oven, to me that's the best way to make pizza at home without a standalone pizza oven (apparently the big green eggs work well too).
But, frozen pizza is something quick and easy, more for my kids to make themselves if I'm out. Most of the options out there are pure garbage though.
You wouldn't think it would be so hard to make a frozen pizza that comes out half decent, sauce and cheese freeze fine, there are other bread products that work well (frozen croissant's and baguettes are both fine) but it seems it's a near impossible challenge to do it with Pizza...
Really? I'll have to give that a try, Merivale is a little far away for me to order from them, but I could hit it up on the way home from work to pick up some frozen za's for quick meals if they are good...The best pizza I stated before is Pi Squared on Merivale. Heartbreakers is really goodNot really a fan of Pi Squared at all.
My personal favs in Ottawa would have to be either Heartbreakers downtown, Juluca's in Barrhaven, or Louis Pizza.
Are you talking about Louis in Vanier on MacArthur? It was great, so good my cat tried to steal my slice right out of my hand.Louis Pizza
Im not that much a fan of of traditional Canadian pizzas. I used to like Gabriel's/Milano's but over the last few years I don't think the are worth the price anymore. I used to order the Gabriel's Deluxe but now it's 45 Dollars with 2 drinks. Get it delivered and its 50 bucks. It's better than Pizza Pizza but not $25 more. If you order Pizza Pizza right its decent. Are you talking about Louis in Vanier on MacArthur? It was great, so good my cat tried to steal my slice right out of my hand.
