[Disclaimer: Obviously this would never happen due to the players involved, but it's the offseason, so why not? I apologise in advance if anyone is offended]

Ottawa:
Erik Karlsson
Mark Stone

Edmonton:
Connor McDavid

Reasoning:
Ottawa is not looking likely to become a contender in Karlsson's prime, so by acquiring a younger franchise player they can start rebuilding well.
Edmonton is clearly lacking on defence after Larsson, but has a stacked forward group who could be very dangerous in the next couple seasons. Karlsson could be the last piece for them to be great.
Right now Karlsson and McDavid are arguably the two most valuable assets now, with McDavid having an edge, so I added Stone to even it out and reduce the impact on the Oilers forwards.

Thoughts?

So bad for Ottawa

McDavid is probably the only player in the league that has more value than Karlsson, but the difference in value between the two is not Stone, a top 10 RW in the league.

Value wise, this is ballpark good. However, Ottawa would have to turn around and trade for defenseman using Turris or Brassard as the tradebait.

McDavid's value is hard to really judge. He's more than just his on ice play, he's much bigger than that. No way Edmonton makes this deal.

I'd easily do it if I'm the Oilers

Even if healthy, Mcdavid won't produce more than 20 pts more than EK per season, Stone makes this deal completely lopsided, people will soon realize he's one of the best right wingers in the game.

I don't think the Oilers would do it because they wouldn't be willing to part with McDavid, but the value clearly favors them.

Klefbom-Karlsson
Sekera-Larsson

LOLLL Edmonton hangs up the phone immediately. You do realize, Mcdavid will become the best player in the NHL very soon. Also, factor in how young he is

If the Oilers were hypothetically shopping McDavid, Karlsson + Stone + Turris + 1st+ would be the asking price

The Oilers take that deal and run. Don't be ridiculous.

Don't make me laugh. McDavid's value goes far beyond what he brings to the ice (and if you haven't noticed, he's pretty good at that hockey thing). He was able to almost single handedly lure both Sekera and Lucic as free agents, with Lucic straight up coming out and saying it. Before I hear any of the "there are 42 million things that lured Lucic to Edmonton jokes", note that the Canadiens offered him more.

Connor McDavid had 48 points in only 45 games last season. With a full 82 game season under his belt I'd imagine McDavid could put up close to 90 points or more this season, if he can stay healthy through all 82 games.
