Was it any better when he defended McQuaid and hung that goal on the forwards? I mean, yikes. He passed it directly to the guy, but it's on the forwards for not realizing McQuaid can't clear a puck??
McQuaid is rapidly approaching the "useless vet" category.
For some reason, guys who Julien has overpromoted to upper lines such as Kelly, Talbot, McQuaid, Miller, etc. are heros to Brickley. It doesn't make sense.
Something tells me it's something to do with who Andy was as a hockey player. "Always a B level player" as he says. He was always happy that a few people gave him the chance to prove himself. I think because of that he feels the need to really go overboard (to the point of being illogical) in his ability to absolve older, less talented vets of blame for mistakes that are obviously on them.
Somewhat understandable but extremely foolish.
