To BUF:
D.Batherson - 4.975 (2+ years left)
J.Bernard-Docker - 0.805 (RFA)

To OTT:
JJ.Peterka - 0.855 (RFA)

Any tweaks needed?

Don't really see the point for Buffalo.

Batherson and Peterka have similar numbers right now, but Peterka is 3-4 years younger with more room to grow. Neither is particularly physical, so it's not like Batherson would offer Buffalo a different component.
Bernard-Docker is a depth defenseman who makes no real difference.

I can see why Ottawa would think about it (trying to rekindle the Stützle-Peterka connection from German international games), but it's not like it would be a guaranteed improvement for them either.

Seems more like a change of scenery deal for players of a similar level, but neither is really in need of a change of scenery, Peterka even less so than Batherson.

I didn't realize Zucker was having such a good year. I misread his stat line (was looking at Jack Quinn's I think).

I'll remove him and Gaudette and reflect it in the OP.

My bad.
I still don't see why Buffalo moves Peterka for Batherson, though, and JBD is worth a 4th or 5th to the right team (which I don't think would be Buffalo), so I don't think he moves the needle at all

Greenway would be a nice add in the offseason or via trade + extension; Zucker, too, but I think he will stay in the States.

Peterka isn’t being moved. Jack Quinn should be the target. Quinn has had similar progression to Greig who is a centre which is a position of need for Buffalo. I think Ottawa would need to add a pick to make up for draft pedigree 8OA vs 28OA in 2020.

Center is more important then draft position buffalo adds, that being said greig isn't being moved.

Bathers on will be 27 to start next year and 2 yrs left

Peterka ends his ELC and
Is 23 to start next season

JBD is a bottom pair small size RD

If I'm trading Peterka to ottawa I'm getting back either Tkavhuk or Sanderson as part of a larger trade

Quinn isn't being moved in that type of move.

I’d disagree but for arguments sake, what would Buffalo be looking at to shore up the centre position.

Ridley Greig is not shoring up our Center position.

We have Ryan McLeod at 3C who is more effective than Grieg.

We need top 6 Centers.

Yeah. I don't really get this proposal from either end. It feels like shuffling pieces around just for the sake of shuffling pieces. I don't know that it really gets either team anything substantially different enough to matter...but also feels like at the periphery of it, the ages and contract situations of each almost makes less sense with the other team compared to just rolling with what they've got.

Like...Batherson fits the Senators window well enough and having a couple years locked in is desirable, over whatever Peterka's new contract is likely going to be. Peterka being younger, probably fits the Sabres "window" better (if they even have one  ). It just doesn't really make much sense to me.

Fair comment. Greig projects as a much better player than McLeod. I’d just say that a top 6 centre will cost you a Power or Peterka + 1st, and that’s for a 2LC. You need to be realistic.

What do you mean i need to be realistic? I never even hinted that Quinn would fetch a top 6 Center on his own.... Only that he is not untouchable but could be moved for pieces that we actually need.
