I guess we'll find out what the conditions were on the trade, now.
Calling it now- Ohio State. Then asks to get traded from Calgary cause he’s mad they won’t sign him and there’s another Cutter Gauthier/Rutger Mcgroarty situationWhere does he go if he’s not happy there too?

Tremendous talent ... has a lot of maturing to do. No way he was going to stay in Sudbury. Hopefully he gets it together at U of M. Hate to see him turn into Ryan Merkley 2.0Quite a reputation he's building.
So, am I reading this right? The Shorter player is 6' 7"???
his brother is 6.07 / 245 lbs and played TE at Purdue.Just wait until he is Taller!
Have to find out who was born second, to see who is a little Shorter.
Johnson from what I have heard is about as safe a bet to play top 4 this year as any other rookie D. Should be on team. I predict Chitaroni, Johnson, Hayes on the team for sure and the rest of the guys battle it out. Zielinski would be able to play full time as next year he would be 17 to start and it’s his draft year(if he comes over)Barring anyone standing on their head I would rather have NCAA, Chitaroni and our Eurobe the only player to make the team this year .
The rest, including Johnson, would be better getting minutes on a local CCHL team and practicing with the 67s
My argument is not how good the players are they are all good if they are drafted. The challenge comes to where is the best place for them to develop. Playing 4th line on a team that very rarely plays the 4th line is not the best for Hayes or any 16 year old.Johnson from what I have heard is about as safe a bet to play top 4 this year as any other rookie D. So Chitaroni, Johnson, Hayes, Zielinski and one other 16 year old plus the imports would be rookies.
let the shorters (who likely come as a package deal being twins and probably have played on same team all their life) play games with the 67s but not enough for an A card. Next year full time for them as 17 year olds with late birthdays (not eligible for NHL draft until 2028 rather than 2027 because of a birthday past sept 16th and remember- only 4 16 year olds can play on the same team unless you trade for a first round pick player
Beast you're being quite harsh on a kid when we don't know for sure what went on behind the scenes. We're all dissapointed he wanted out of Ottawa but doesn't mean he's a bad/spoiled kid necessarily. I for onr wish him luck.Mews
4things
I can't wait to see the NHL ruling on his eligibility (is he CHL or NCAA)
I think the next place for him may be the showroom selling cars
His agent cannot talk to the NHL until he graduates or says he is finished.
Hey, we finally have Moldenhaer and Mews on the same team LOL.
He is going to find that his attitude willnot last long at the NCAA level these are all people that are serious and do not put up with crap.
I plan on getting a degree in Business admin or sports.
I assume that Sudbury holds his rights, though, if he thinks he wants to come back.
Calgary will probably trade his rights to someone else or just let him go as a bad choice theone the could of but did not want to.
He is going to end up like a lot of kids here that have rich parents living at home or in a house daddy bought, putting in time under daddy hoping nothing happens.
OK I am looking at the American kids we drafted and I have to ask. If we drafted them should we not be thinking that they are going to play here or did we waste draft picks
I am looking at Shorter more the D than the forward would
Zielinski and Vandenberg
Shorter the D
In the case of Zielinski and Vandenberg they are already signed and playing USHL
The Shorter brothers are almost guaranteed to be drafted by the USHL this year or go to the NDTP camp.
There is no way that you are going to entice Zielinski or Vandenberg to come here I would think and play 3rd 4th line minutes. They are going to want 2nd line minutes, I think to make the switch
Zielilnski is going to be one of the top scorers on the USHL team and in all likelihood, play first lline looking at the team stats
Vandenberg is a possibilty but again not sure he would settle to be 3rd line nor will Citaroni want to be stuck on 4th line
Shorters will look at the USHL as a better alternative to playing CCHL I am sure.
It is going to be interesting to see what happens. I hope that Boyd has already had talks with these players and their families and can sign some of these players and I also look at Shorters as possibly playing 1 year in the USHL then coming here butnot sure.
It will be interesting to see what happens
@OMG67 I think with all the young kids we have, Brady may find himself traded. There are too many young guns trying to step in. I do not see him as an OA I keep next year, but with all the young kids we have it makes more sense to get some of them playing than to keep Brady. I think he is in for a fight to keep his place.

Zielinski is not a rookie in the sense that he has played junior hockey at this level and can not be and Vandenberg can not be considered in the same boats as other rookies
Johnson will have a chance to make the team at camp if he is good enough to dislodge one of the players that is here now then all the best to him but if he is gong to be 7 or 8th, then the best lace3 for him development is CCHL
Please explain to me what the Shorters are supposed to do. I am confused about playing, but not enough to get their A card. Are they supposed to stay home until called? I can see them playing in the USHL or NDTP if they qualify this year and looking at the OHL next year unless Trevor is good enough to make the 67's top 6 this year.
We have drafted some great players, and now it is going to be on Boyd and Cameron to find places for them that work.

A goalie would be good. I think in last year's U/18 draft they took one (Liam Conway) as well as a defenseman, Theo Avila.Keep a strong eye on the U-18 draft this week. We have the early 1st round pick (3rd). That could end up being a goalie.
The U-18 hasn’t really unearthed anyone significant for the 67s ever. But this year may provide someone decent, especially if it were a goalie.A goalie would be good. I think in last year's U/18 draft they took one (Liam Conway) as well as a defenseman, Theo Avila.
