Gerrior scratched for this morning’s game.

MacKenzie with the start.

Ekberg centring the 4th line with Houben and Amidovski. Let’s see if that line actually plays any shifts as a 4th line or whether Amidovski is customarily benched the entire game as usual with another winger sliding into his slot.

Amidovski is not a very well liked player in the dressing room or by the coaching staff, I’ve heard numerous times his attitude & work ethic is a huge problem. I don’t think you will see him around much longer. He thinks he should be a L1 player and his Sh** doesn’t stink. Watch out for either him being moved at the deadline or sent back to Jr

Interesting. You’d think this would have been sussed out prior to them picking him. That sort of attitude is usually on display as a 15 year old.

If that is the case, I could see that as a definite motivator to try to acquire a quality 19 year old but if it looks like he is gone no matter what, that is a definite error by the management team.

I assume, based on what you are saying, that he will be here until the deadline and if not traded, he will be sent down to Tier II.

I was wondering why he is only playing 1-2 shifts some games.
Going to be awful hard to adapt to Major JR playing 1 Minute of hockey.

I think it is more like 1-2 shifts MOST games. It has been mind boggling.

When picking him at the draft he was very well aware of what it’s like to be a rookie in this league, he was much on board with everything & happy to come to Ottawa. Camp went great. It was about 3 weeks ago when agent & parents got involved and have created a stir up about ice time. This one isn’t on management this one is on the kid I would trade him now just because you are a star at U16 means nothing I’m your rookie year in the OHL

This one is interesting as the kid never had a reputation for this u16 and actually seemed to have a very good head on his shoulders from everything i've heard about him.

Those games you played a forward or 2 short he got some ice time but now as you get healthy / full lineup back i can see this not going well for him.
I'm sure "character issues" aren't exactly going to increase his trade value for Ottawa now that you have made it public knowledge either.

I can understand that but at the same time, he wasn’t getting ice time leading up to three weeks ago. HE was dressing for mostly every game and would just sit on the bench. You have to find opportunities to play your players. If you are dressing guys to only sit them virtually the entire game, why bother dressing them.

We had games where we had 10 forwards dressed and pretty much didn’t play Amidovski. IMO, as an outsider looking in, I really don’t think they have given him an opportunity to play. Behind the scenes, you earn your ice time. Granted. But, at some point players are going to rebel when they aren’t playing. He isn’t given an opportunity to take what he’s learned and apply it to game situations. So, I can understand the player side as well.

The onus is on the 67’s to resolve this issue. To date, it doesn’t’ seem like the organization is very strong at resolving issues. It seems like they take a hard stance and if the player doesn’t buy in then they trade them. I think we’ve had too many player issues lately for this to be a one sided situation. Management and coaches need to be held accountable for the heavy number of players that have wanted out.

I think you are spot on.
It always seems we get the picture the 67'S want to paint out to the public on here.
Every time its the player in the wrong , disgruntled etc but the repeated occurrence of issues seems alarming to me.
3 sides to every story.

May be getting ahead of myself here but it’s fun to speculate.

What if you guys make a trade at the deadline and try and go for it next year? acquire Jet Luchanko from Guelph and then they reunite McLean and Amidovski

Trade guys like Stonehouse, Gerrior at deadline for picks and see what you can do next year?

The ‘06 class is just too weak. The ‘05 class is bad for OAs.

This is why DC, although clearly a good coach, may not be suitable for coaching players of this age group. He may be fine in a Tam Canada situation for a short run but there seems to be a lot of drama on this club that was never really present before.

My sense is that certain players chafe under DC's system/coaching style, but overall IMO he is a very good coach and generally has his teams well-prepared to play hard and play to their strengths. I'd say where he falls a little short is having his players consistently play disciplined hockey (he doesn't do a good job at reining-in the after the whistle stuff which is coachable imo), nor does he seem to adapt quickly when things move against his teams. We've seen that in recent playoffs.

He is a good coach for the national junior teams because generally speaking those teams are loaded with talent and experience and he just needs to steer the ship in the right direction. Not sure if he's going to be as successful coaching younger teams in the midst of a re-build/re-tool.

Scam. Horrible refing. How's that not a goal?
I'd love to see the conclusive evidence that that's not a goal.

I don’t have the exact stats on this but I think that makes the 67’s win-loss record at Scotia Bank Place around 3-75….

Right at cross bar or above. Don't listen to the homer announcers. Some of the worst in the league for that.

The point was there were no camera angles presented in arena or on the TV broadcast that shows the stick in contact with the puck above the cross-bar. They may very well have had an angle that was conclusive so it would have been nice to have access to it.

Oh absolutely would be nice to access that but they’re not going to go out and spend a bunch of money at every rink just so fans can get an extra look or two at reviews. I’m sure the OHL had an angle of it or they wouldn’t have called it no goal
