Ottawa 67s 2024 - 25 Offseason Thread, Part I

Exactly ... because the coach and GM are bad and he isn't being developed properly.

Due to the number of unknowns, I am reserving judgment on Boyd.

As for DC , I am sorry. He was a good coach and definitely still is okay, but like Mav and, to a certain point, Killer, he is staying too long in the league and needs to retire.

Maybe he puts in for the GM position in Niagara.

The only thing with this team I would be against is putting Dever and Foster as the top 2 centers, or for this team to go all in to get home ice.

Both of these things are a long way off, and there are so many unknowns that I am not sure we can choose the top 2 lines

Let's see who Boyd signs and who he doesn't. Does he remain loyal to Barlas and keep him in the lineup?

Again, a lot of questions that I think we have to wait until mid-September to really know what this team is going to look like.

Ideally, neither Dever, nor Foster play centre this year. But, we may see them both line up at centre in the 1st half. Both Vandenberg and Chitaroni need some time to get their feet wet. Of course, Whitehead has something to say about it too. I’d like him to step into that role. Ekberg may also get a shot at centre. Who knows? But, I agree that it is not ideal to have two OA centres on a rebuilding team.

I agree about DC as well but it is what it is.

Cameron is much more than just an ok coach imo. Niagara might not have a suitable starting goalie right now and I expect Barrie, Brantford, and NB to be really good teams. But I think that with the speed on the Niagara roster, that team could potentially finish this coming regular season at the top of the conference with Cameron as coach.

You can write off Niagara as the league has left them out to dry and DD still does not know what they are doing. They don't have a real GM or any coaching staff and players want out. This is a team that will find itself in the bottom again.

OH how I miss Branch

The new guy doesnot have the power or gravitas to make the decisions; look at the mess in Niagara.]
We may not have liked his decisions all the time, but at least he made them quickly, unlike some of the stuff going on.
What?

Branch’s tenure allowed the ownership change to happen; and you’re blaming the new guy for not cleaning up the mess quickly enough?

Don’t let the dog s*** on the porch in the first place in my opinion; don’t have to worry about cleaning it up after.

I think the name Gretzky is what made the sale work. Let's face it, when Wayne comes knocking few people are going to say NO

I agree, though, but who else was making an offer to replace the Burkes?

Anyway You have to agree the league is letting this drag on to friggin long
