Not sure but the way he was laying on the ice, it looked like he may have reaggrivated the groin. It would have been good to get video of him leaving the ice but there was none on the broadcast. Considering how quick he left the ice, it wasn’t like there was any question of him remaining in the game which further points to reaggrivating an existing injury.

Damn. Not good.

When goalies are hurt they need to be absolutely 100% before they come back. When a goalie is nursing an injury, regardless of how minor, they are going to get lit up like a Christmas tree. That tells me MacKenzie will be out at least two or three weeks.

For pro teams, the best ability is often availability. Unfortunately for MacKenzie, he has had an injury riddled season. You feel badly for a kid because injuries are random luck, but he will need to put together a very solid, injury free OA season in 24-25 in order to attract any pro interest...

Niagara outscored 15-2 in their last 2 games and today they only have 16 skaters yet tied at 3-3 currently

67's win 6-4

The less is said about that mess the better. At least the 67s got the 2 points. Could be a rough ride without MacKenzie.

Well... 49 and 56 shots for in the last 2 games.
And Horbler and Korbler saw a lot of ice and have accounted for 4 goals.

But, especially with McKenzie out, they will need to get back to to playing more responsible defemce in Oshawa Tomorrow.

My thoughts on the game.
Sloppy, lazy, sloppy, selfish, sloppy, putrid....but 2 pts🤷‍♂️
Don't remember a game where the poles played so poorly and won.

OK, they have had time to get to know each other and know who plays well with whom.

Bottom line for me is going to be how they play Oshawa.

If they can not compete with the Gems then to me all the trades that they made at the deadline wear a waste of picks.

This was a team before the deadlline that I thought would be 6-7 in the conf. If, after Boyd made the trades, they still ended up there, then it was all a waste to me.

Sorry, I know OMG is going to be upset, but looking at how they played Sat tells me that if they are not able to compete with the Gens, then they are finished trying for a top 4 home ice advantage.

To me, Mack Getting injured is not good, but knowing he had a bad groin, it was a risk that Boyd decided to make.

Record post deadline….

4-2-1
Record is ok...I guess. Just do not like the way they are playing right now. This team has not gelled since the deadline. Am I worried, not really. Plenty of time and a good coach, talented team they'll get there.

Good start. Shots are well up for us. Wonder if this is a new trend for us this year...
The d pairings are more in line with expectations: Sirman-Smythe are 5/6th, Marelli-Mayich a solid combo.
The one essential irreplaceable guy - Mac - is out, Michelone in. Mich's numbers are what we expected; abysmal.
To add: Stonehouse is 2 goals in 18 games recently. Guess we don't have to worry aboout him not returning next year.

how long can they keep Saari as a backup?

Good win. Team kept playing.

Hopefully we can build off this weekend

One thing I noticed the last two games is the Sirman/Smyth pairing seems to work. Sirman moves the puck and Smyth plays a simple game...as he should.
