Not bad when you see Cowen making $3.1M per year over 4 years in a deal that was signed in 2013.

Refreshing.

Well done Dorion.

Solid deal, leaves Pierre Dorion to work within the budget, having the capability to add a rental mid-season or a depth defenceman now.

He's in a perfect spot, being paired with Phaneuf - having Karlsson eating up the toughest 25-30 minutes.

The only drawback is that his PP time will be bery limited.

its a bridge deal, so its always a good deal. But a bit too much $$$. It will give him a lot of pressure to perform, so thats good. He should get more PP time. Will improve his confidence and make him avoid looking at his stats...

Terrible deal obviously its the Sens! Overpaid Ceci sucks. Jump on HF get after it.

Great deal but risky. I like Ceci and think they would have been better served to go 5milX6yrs. Now I think Ceci will play great and get 7+ on his next deal.

Guessing it is backloaded in order to give Ceci a more favourable qualifying offer and the Senators a bit of wiggle room on their supposed 68M budget.

They are at roughly 65.3M before this signing. Obviously that could go up or down by a few 100k depending on which depth players get the last few spots on the team. Point is, Ceci's contract should just fit under the budget. For this reason, a bridge deal seemed inevitable.
