Goodness gracious there's a lot wrong with this post.

1.it was known where the first would be, so no chance of it hitting 4th overall.

2.ottawa's biggest issue was goaltending last year, because Korpisalo was statistically horrific

3.they got rid of that contract and the 16 million left on it, only having to eat 25 percent

4.they acquired a vezina winning goaltender, with a good shot of re-signing him as PART of that korpisalo dumping.

5.talk about foresight, the Sens saved 12 million bucks in the deal to either pay Ullmark or a different goalie.

Otherwise, your post was excellent!

Value wise it's fine if your main goal is dumping korpisalo, I just don't see it being an A+ move based on where the team finished last year. It's hard to sign any UFA in Ottawa let alone a goalie who almost every team will be wanting next summer.

Value wise it's fine if your main goal is dumping korpisalo, I just don't see it being an A+ move based on where the team finished last year. It's hard to sign any UFA in Ottawa let alone a goalie who almost every team will be wanting next summer.

Dumping Korpasalo was a major goal. Getting Ullmark as well as dumping Korpasalo was one of the best moves possible.

That will probably happen, but these next two seasons are pretty critical. If he signed for 5+ mil right now we’d be in a tight situation. Now we can still add a couple depth UFA pieces.

Our third pairing and 4th line could use some help.
