You don't understand my argument. I was responding to a post saying that Cozens has a higher ceiling which he hasn't shown yet based on his WJC performance. Of all the guys you listed only Tavares and Nuge have had a higher peak than Cozens so far (statistically). Cozens is actually pretty much on his way to have a career similar to that of Eberle some years a top 9 player, some years a first line player. But mostly uneven with highs and lows. Schenn has been a more consistent player but even his offensive peak is not much higher than Cozens' 68 point season. So yeah your post supports what I said. Cozens' WJC performance does not indicater a higher ceiling than what he has shown so far.Not really though, and especially not amongst North Americans.
Cozens has the T-27th most points in WJC history and T-19th in a single tourney. When you apply a 2005 cutoff, he is 11th and 6th. Amongst North Americans in that time, 5th in both categories.
Guys ahead of him are Bedard, Zegras, Eberle, and Schenn - all above average NHLers. Guys slightly below include JVR, Cutter Gauthier, Snuggerud, Stankoven, Tavares, Nuge...
I see two exceptions - Jordan Schroeder, and Cody Hodgson... a player who looked pretty good in the NHL before experiencing chronic health issues.
I don't actually believe that the WJC means anything for what Cozens is or can be at this point, but your claim is just flat out wrong. Even when you include Euros, the claim is a huge exaggeration.
Disagree, his top ten draft pedigree and his crazy performance at the Juniors do indicate a higher ceiling than a guy who was only expected to be a nice 3C when he was traded, post being drafted in the latter half of the first round. Buffoon was right and your argument was not on very solid ground imoYou don't understand my argument. He wasn’t dominant, it was his worst of the 3. 3 games in 4 nights is tough.Cozens was dominant against the Flyers last night.
Adams is hilariously bad at his job.
Sometimes folks need a change
How bout now ?Terrible trade for Buffalo no idea what they gave up yet. Norris is 1 hit away from retirement
He’s honestly looked as good/better than Norris ever has in the 4 gamesCozens has been good for us but his 4 game stretch is possibly still average Norris in my opinion. He has a some way to go to hit Norris level for on ice impact and his ceiling may never be as good as Norris'. Time will tell. I'm excited but will reserve gloating and celebrating until he plays a solid full 82 game season.

I have no clue where this ceiling stuff with Norris is coming from. His career high is 55 points, and every other season was 30ish points with a prorated 50ish.
He’s a 50ish point, 20 assist guy who misses 15+ games a year that brings his totals down to the 30/40’s
2021-22
The eye test approved of him that year much more than any other. Cozens has already put together a better 4-game sample than Norris has since then though. I want them both to succeed but Cozens just seems so much better already.
Was that the season he set up camp on the PP and one timered like 15 goals from the same spot? I'd say that ceiling might have lowered a bit after the shoulder surgeries and then not seeing those slappers come off his stick the same ever since
