Norris + JBD out, Cozens in saves about $1.5m. That is significant for a team that only had about 800k, and I suspect/hope they will try to use that space to add depth.
Honestly I wrote that completely blanking JBD from my head (which to be fair is something we're really good at). If we don't take more cap back then yes that is a positive provided we add another asset elsewhere, like you said. I hope we can nab a winger.

I know there are more details to come out but trying to wrap my brain around this one. Division rivals as well. Seems like some risk on both sides. Did not see this coming.

When healthy, Norris is one of the top two way centers in the NHL and he can score if given space. A tad overpaid but health is a concern.

Love this for Ottawa.

Cozens for Norris and JBD seems OK to me. Norris is injury prone and both players seem to have similar stat lines.

Can someone describe the style of game Cozens plays? Is he a 2-way centre? I don't watch the Sabres often.

I'm not sure I like it if it's for Cozens. Norris plays our toughest matchups, produces at a similar rate, and makes a similar amount. I'm not convinced Cozens is an upgrade or a better fit. I am someone that has been a little puzzled at the timing of us pushing so hard to move Norris though.

At least Cozens can stay healthy.
There are reasons to trade Norris if you can get something of equivalent value: injury prone, high $8M salary for what he provides.
