1. Tkachuk's are notorious for being hard negotiators (dad, brother, brady all the same)
2. If this was any other team but the Sens, 100% he would have got at least $7.75M over the same term. Sens overpaid but half a million

Do they plan on getting Brady a good center to play with? Because building a team around a winger has never worked out like ever.

That’s a lot for a guy with a career high of 45 points, but I do think he likely grows into this deal and becomes more-or-less worth it.

Probably not, Josh Norris and Shane Pinto are pretty crappy. Let's feed him to the wolves instead.

How are Norris and Pinto crappy? At worst they are trending up to be legit 2C, both play a good 2-way game specially Pinto.

There is no elite 1C, would be nice to have as it is the most important but hardest to fill position. The Sens also need need a top-4 RD. But I think Tkachuk will be just fine with either of the young players for the foreseeable future as they grow.

Think you may need to check your sarcasm detector...Lol But for sure the team isnt being build around one elite center with a few elite wingers...It being built as a 4 line team that can hit you from different waves and styles of play

You're another scared Leaf fan reacting to the fact that Brady is going to kick the Leaf softies butts all over the ice for the next 7 years.
actually, it makes me happy as a leafs fan, because I'd rather every team overpay for middling skill players because they have 'toughness'
I hope he takes a ton of penalties vs the Leafs, as that is his best stat by a mile, PIMs

Middling skill??Do you remember how the last Leaf team that won a playoff round actually did it??

You had guys like Domi,Roberts,Corson ,Macabe hell even Belfour was a hot head...And yes it was against us,that soft skilled team ...Now you guys wonder why we dont fold against you guys anymore ,and why you cant win a round...

Ha ha, yeah keep telling yourself that and don't look at shots, hits or drawn penalties...

I like how you quoted "overpaid" like it isn't true. 67 points last year. 67 points the year before that. 94 the year before that.

Well, those two 67 point seasons makes for a nice average of 96pts/season pace, over the last three years running. WOOT.

I wonder if Brady will break 45 this year?

It will be interesting to see if Brady or Matthew become the better player by the end of their terms. I feel Matthew will simply because he has more talent surrounding him.

And in 28 combined seasons they have won 0 cups. Good to great players, no doubt. But....

And have spent 70 mil in player salary in only one of those 28 ...Thinking that may have something to do with the lack of real success more than not having good players

Norris and Pinto are both looking to be solid number 2s. Maybe even 1a 1b kinda guys. Not superstar centers, but solid centers nonetheless.
