Vancouver’s first two goals probably feel pretty awful. Over-handling the puck twice inside your own blueline leading to goals against, including one where you give up body position in the slot. Yikes.

Gaudette is one of those weird "tweener" sort of players. The guys who aren't really skilled enough to lock down a Top-6 scoring role reliably. But also aren't really cut out for grinding it out in bottom-6 duty. But Ottawa (especially right now) seems like a fantastic opportunity for him to show if he really does have that Top-6 caliber scoring ability that's translatable to the NHL level. So...good for him.

You don't often see a guy get benched in his first game with a team, but Gaudette managed to make it happen. Only had 4 shifts from the 30 minute mark onwards.
