Unless this is Bill sticking it to Kraft on his way out the door there was ZERO reason to start Mac over Zappe. None. But hey the tank is clearly on if you leave Mac in.

I truly hope he puts in Zappe. Not because I think it will be any different but because maybe then the Bill apologists will finally realize that Belichick took a steaming dump on this roster when he was constructing it.

Honestly the whole offense is trash. Mac can't throw a ball with any zip to it. The o-line gets caved in routinely forcing Mac to throw most of his balls off his back foot. The receivers can't get open forcing the o-line to try to hold up longer than expected. In the off chance the o-line holds, the receivers get open and make makes a decent throw...... usually the ball gets dropped

I wonder if Bill is keeping Mac in because he's Kraft's guy and he's pissed he was forced to draft him.
(I think Bill's lost a step or three, but he's also a stubborn, vindictive guy and this isn't beyond him.)

My feeling is that Bill is still starting Mac because he wants the fan base to blame Mac. He knows if he plays Zappe it will look just as bad and then the focus will 100% be on Bill for being a bad coach and GM.

That half proved one thing: These are the wo worst offenses, if not worst teams, in football. Get rid of Macenroe Jones like a bad habit. He has neither the arm nor the attitude to play the position. I hate the Patriots, and even I feel bad for them and their fans watching Jones play.
On another note, the NFL is in trouble. Brady and others are right, there is a lot of bad, boring football, out there, especially offensively.
