I didn't really pay much attention to that situation with the pitcher for the Dodgers (Trevor Bauer) a few years ago. I remember hearing about it. Seems like he really got screwed pretty hard by MLB and the girl that apparently falsely accused him. I don't get why there are no repercussions for making false accusations like that. I guess it's hard to prove but it seems pretty clear in this case the intent was to extort money from the player by making false accusations.
He made too many enemies with MLB with how outspoken he was about sticky stuff.

I think it’s very likely Bauer is a giant prick that made a lot of enemies, but what happened to him was appalling. I realize private companies can act as they please, but this country and our entire civilization as a whole should never get away from innocent until proven guilty being a core right that EVERYONE is entitled to, especially in situations where it’s one person’s word vs another’s.

I hope he gets every penny back that was stolen from him by MLB and the Dodgers + punitive damages.

@Herby @kingsholygrail

Thanks for the responses. I wasn't aware of his rapport with the league. But yeah, it's really unfair to get penalized for something that didn't happen and something he really had no control over.
He's very outspoken and a bit arrogant. Definitely has a chip on his shoulder. He does seem a little less fiery since going over to Japan, but you can tell the guy overflows in self confidence. But I'd really expect no less from a pro athlete, especially one that has been to the top of the mountain. I like his blogs on youtube about playing in Japan. Baseball is so much bigger in Japan. It's like how it used to be in the States.

I've never been much of a fan of Bauer. But that guy literally got screwed across the board. Women like this do just as much damage, maybe more, than actual abusers themselves.
I hope Bauer sues MLB, etc.

Dodgers pitching a problem again in the post season? Who could have predicted that? We should go after Ohtani though. He hits a lot of homeruns.

Bauer comes across like a total prick and honestly this kind of thing is bound to happen if you are just running through these types of groupie women.

That said, what happened to him by this woman, the Dodgers, and MLB IS appalling. I'm very curious to see how his situation pans out and what repercussions he will pursue. It also gets me thinking about the Urias and if due process should play out a bit more before repainting murals and clearing out lockers.

I know the Dodgers sure could use both arms right now in October.

How is USC’s defense that bad again?

I guess that’s entertaining, but is that really football? To put it in hockey terms, watching SC really feels like watching roller hockey or an entire game being played 3 on 3.

I think when USC plays a top team (not fraud ND either) they will be run off the field, even with as insanely talented as Caleb is.

I agree Herby. I think they lose 3 games this season. From here on out it’s a rough schedule for SC

It was almost the disaster I thought it would be, but USC managed to complete the comeback. I hope they were just looking forward to Notre Dame, but their D lately has not inspired confidence.

The Rams...:help:
They look like they're playing the 49ers.

edit:
once again the Rams don't have a guy in the back field to block when a blitz is coming. Stafford sacked again, game over.

Grinch better be a goner once this season ends unless they become the 85 Bears the rest of the way somehow. As a UM guy you'll know better than most here how good Leonhard was at Wisconsin, and I'd be giving him a blank check to run this defense and hire his own staff outside of Nua. Need an actual defense instead of one that demands turnovers or will fail.

Coaching is certainly an issue with guys not knowing where to go and tackling, but their is also a talent issue that goes back to Clay that will need to be rectified.

Riley fielded shitty defenses at Oklahoma, too. Shouldn't be shocking that the SC defense is a sieve.

I think Lincoln Reilly's philosophy is exactly what Baker Mayfield said it was, "to just outscore people", as someone else said in this thread his defenses for the most part have always been pretty poor. I think this is reflective in everything about his teams, you are right, there isn't a ton of talent, but there is also enough talent where you don't look like Vanderbilt or Northwestern on defense.

Grinch has certainly been handed the keys to the defenses at some blue blood programs (OSU, USC, OU) and I would say the results have certainly been pretty lacking. I do wonder if USC has issues evaluating defensive talent also, I look at one of our best players, Mason Graham who is playing at an All-American level as a soph, after being really good as a freshman. This is an OC kid who was a star football player and wrestler at Servite and immediately emerged as a difference maker for an elite team and USC barely recruited him. USC just can't let kids like that leave SoCal if they want to get back to being a contender. But that may get back to the lack of any kind of defensive culture/focusing to much attention on recruiting offensive weapons.

I am shocked that Leonard didn't get a job somewhere, my guess is he is going to hope to land a B10 HC job or an NFL DC job. I was surprised he didn't get the UW job, but I think they wanted to change a lot about their program and how they played. Leonard turned down a chance to be DC of the Packers to stay at UW and then was passed over for the fulltime HC job.

Now I'm no Baseball-ologist, but I don't think it's good when your 2 starting pitchers don't make it out of the first 2 innings in the first 2 games of the postseason.
