I think we're going to see one of these dynasty types runs for the Dodgers starting with this recent 2024 WS title. Like 3 titles in four years (or 4 in 6). If people outside LA hate the Dodgers now, it's going to much louder the next few seasons.
Loving the hate.

LA Galaxy playing for its 6th title (and first in 10 years) on Saturday. However, they will have to do it without their best player, Riqui Puig, who tore his ACL in the 60th minute of the Western Conference Final. Puig played the remining 30 minutes on a torn ACL and provided the game winning assist in the 82nd minutes of a 1-0 win over Seattle Sounders. Legend.

Loving the hate.

I adore it

For all the last few years of 'lol look how much youre spending only to lose' to turn into 'the dodgers are ruining baseball why can't anyone stop them' is beautiful

Especially with the complete lack of awareness of fans of teams who were also spending like mad and deferring salaries, especially the entire atmosphere around the Padres, smuggest shit ever

Dodgers winning and THEN upping the ante is a kick in the teeth of THOSE fans in particular and I love it

I didn't think I'd be that emotional after making the finals, but honestly these past several years was miserable as a Galaxy fan that I never thought we'd be able to get back to where we were.

I hope that with the Galaxy's success that it gives AEG some clarity with how to have success with the Kings and what hiring competent leadership does to a franchise. Literally 1 season agao the Galaxy finished 13th in conference and then finished 2nd and find themselves back in the finals 1 year later. Incredible turnaround.

Just imagine if that ownership group were interested in the Kings.

The Dodgers aren barely in my top 5 of teams I follow, but I find it hard to be mad at them for what they are doing.

It feels like they dealt with all the sign stealing crap in 2017, and 2018 and just went "how can we bend the rules to our advantage?"

It feels entirely justified, and if anything I'm envious.

Never mind the fact they continue to be one of the best organizations when it comes to scouting and developing talent from within, while not being afraid to make the big deal in free agency or trade.

Just a well run organization dedicated to being the best.

What the Dodgers are doing ONLY works because of the fact that they are well so freaking dang well. From scouting, internal hiring, spending in right areas from top-to-bottom, etc. There have been many teams that have tried to big spending route -- and it usually fails miserably (or just quick/ST success). Basically the Dodgers are doing the best of everything from top to bottom: Yankees spending, the Tampa Bay scouting/minor league investment, etc, etc. Thus enabling both ST and LT success. It's an extremely rare feat. It takes a lot ($$$ and effort) and comes with a lot of risks -- and almost always fails along the way. Hence the rare feat aspect.

Ram dominate first 3 quarters . Up 38-21. A long Bills run by Allen, bs horse collar call get them in the endzone 2 plays later . 4 and out by the Rams, Bills score again. 38-34. I hate prevent defense!

15 years $765 million dollars for Juan Soto going to the Mets. Average fielder and no deferred money. LOL. Bobby Bonilla all over again for the Mets. Wait aren't they still paying Bobby Bonilla. LOL.

Minus--playing agianst josh allen in fantasy

$765M for Soto is ridiculous and insane. That is a contract that is ruining baseball.

At least Ohtani: pitches at an elite level as well as hitting, massively deferred $$$$ and he bring in so much revenue that he potentially pays for himself. As long as Ohtani didn't get hurt day 1 of 2024 spring training and never played again -- he was a no brainer signing and financially it was a brilliant move.

I'm honestly just glad that wasn't the Dodgers

I know soto is special but like you said he only brings the plate to the table

He fields like me

Kind of a high event player like that, puts up runs but also bleeds them, sort of baseball's erik karlsson

Re: the Soto signing--gotta love the New York-on-New York crime aspect of it too.

Soto's a stud but too complimentary of a player to build around IMO. I know he's got the most walks ever by a player at this point in his career, but that sort of uber-patient "I will only swing at things in the heart of the zone, or on the edge of it if there's two strikes" approach works better when you're a 165 pound leadoff guy with wheels or an all-or-nothing dude like Muncy, not Soto who should be hiting 40+ bombs a year, minimum, not once in 7 years (and only then when Aaron Freaking Judge was hitting behind him).
