he does it because owners run the NFL. The league is a bank and owners have all the power. It's the only league where players regularly do not have guaranteed contracts - that's why there are giant, signing bonuses

They could be subtle about it. Look at me I am the money and I get the trophy cause I paid those f***ing salaries. lol At the end of the day it should be about sport and those who bleeds to get the championship. I find the whole thing repulsive. Even the trophy itself look like garbage. Feels like they got it at Wallmart. Come of like a slave owner getting praises for what the slaves did.

Not a football fan but those 2 penalties vs the Bengals and Eagles were lame AF I didn't know football could be so soft. Mahomes is the NFL Crosby or something? Got the calls rolling for him.

Not pictured; the Flyers tire fire.

If I owned a team that's valued as high as 6B and printed money no matter what, I'd come out on the field naked to accept the trophy.

Capitalism, eh? Money's brings power. Those people don't cry for handouts like NHL ownership does, they build privately funded arenas worth billions. That gives them the right to doc whatever the f*** they want.

That pass interference ruined a classic game. I wanted Chiefs to win but it was so anticlimactic especially how soft the penalty was. Feel like those plays get let go in regular season let alone decide an entire game.

This is pure fiction, bro.
Inglewood and Jones' arena are? Feel free to look it up, those were 2B+ stadiums funded almost entirely privately.

I hope that was your inference, apologies otherwise. I'd say entirely, but can't because the owners gdid get tax breaks from their respective cities, longer term benefits butstill counts. But no taxpayer money was spent on either short term.

SoFI, especially is so freeaking amazing that it changed the entire landscape of its "hood". I've been and saw it with my own eyes. Drugs, good drugs are needed to fund THAT without any regret.

Goes to the other point too actuallly... It's difficult to imagine, really, but if I was Kroenke and could do THAT... I mean it's like being in the outerspace without oxygen to me. Terrifying, that's how outerwordly it fels to imagine someone blowing 3-4B dollars on a team and a stadium for fun. What could those people not do in your opinion? Save for walking on water, they're near untouchable. It takes something on Epsteins proportions to do damage to these titants and even then...will take a few decades in most cases. It's not that I admire money or value it most of all, I actually don't. I just think about it from a slightly differwent angle often and it's scary to imagine myself in their place. Not a happy thought, believe it or not.

Sure, they can do whatever they want.

That doesn’t mean it’s not incredibly lame.

So.. anyone else going to Elimination Chamber (and Smackdown, I guess) this weekend? I wasn't originally planning on going, but after the Rumble, some friends and I impulse bought tickets.

@Harry22 is looking forward to acknowledging his Tribal Chief in person.

Yeah, perhaps, maybe. I'm just not sure you and I can judge what it;s like in that stratosphere.

Sounds again like i'm protecting them for some reason, but not at all. Just thinking out loud. It's kind of like saying that you know the world/its poulants not having left a province/town/country/whgatever.

Maybe even more narrowsighted. Being very lucky to have the opportunity to travel EXTENSIVELY (no brag, but 40+ countries I think now, something). It's just something I can use as a comparison point to say that you really really don't know what that or this is like until you been/done/had/whatever.

Sorry, erradic typing cause I'm doing many things at once. Hopefully I make some kinda sense here.

As far as I know, the NFL is the only league/competition in the World where the trophy is handed to the owner first.

NBA and MLB also hand the trophy to the owner first
A lot of soccer leagues too if I'm not mistaken. I weas a Neu Camp when Carcelona won it all in 2011 I think and while I nearly got trampled I did see the owner lifting it first. if memory srrves.

I went to my first ever event Smackdown in august and honestly, i had one of the greatest times of my life, it was more fun than any habs game or concert i had ever been to, so there was NO WAY i was missing the first PPV in MTL in 15 years
I had bought my Tickets without even knowing ANY matches booked, which concerned me slightly, Royal Rumble was holding everything up, but i felt compelled to snag some tickets anyway as this sort of event just doesnt come around every year for us..

What do we get as a reward ? :
Roman vs Sami for the belts out of NOwhere (i got to see roman in august but it wasnt a "match") so pretty pumped for THAT, i didnt expect to see Roman at all that night
We get Seth Rollins and Austin Theory in the elimination chamber itself (the other guys are fine dont get me wrong but its REALLY a Seth vs Theory match disguised as a chamber match, happy to see Montez and Priest as well) , but im JACKED up to be apart of that Rollins intro singing with the crowd "ooohhh whoaaaa ohhhh ohhhhh" lol
So already just getting Roman fighting and Seth fighting is a huge win for me right there, the 2 pillars of the industry (If Cody wants to run out and help Semi when he gets ambushed by the Bloodline is JUST fine too)
Men's elimination chamber match + Women's elimination chamber match

f***in again out of NOWHERE , we're getting Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley?!? wha?? Yes!, what a pleasant surprise i was not expecting not even a little bit (i thought that was a wrestlemania match all the way (and still will be too)), but i'll absolutely cherish being able to see Brock in the flesh in the twilight of his career, never thought in a million years he'd be at this event.
And just for good measure, we're getting a Edge + Beth Phoenix vs Finn Balor AND Rhea Ripley?? again out of nowhere and a complete pleasant surprise, get to see a Hall of Fame couple vs the insanely talented Balor and the person taking over the women's division by sheer force , i feel extra spoiled with that one

It sucks to not be able to see the IC phenom Gunther take on anyone Saturday but, if anyones going to Smackdown the night before which is also in Montreal amazingly, gunther will be fighting on Friday at least, so you can see him then

And lastly, i heard a juicy little rumor that we MIGHT get Damage Control vs Becky / HoF Lita + MAYBE Trish Stratus , and if this materializes .. this could be one hell of a special night lol
Privileged to be the last PPV before Wrestlemania, i thought that that might hurt us for the bookings, turns out, its working out AMAZing for us instead lol, stacking up the card

Yeah, it's looking like it'll be a really fun show.

I couldn't care less about Lesnar vs Lashley, but I know a lot of people do, so it'll be a great time to get up and get a beer or use the bathroom without any lines.

I'm hoping Sami comes out with his old music. The crowd singing along to that will be RIDICULOUS. I was at the Raw after WrestleMania X8 with the crowd cheering Hogan, and then again at the Raw when Bret came out and introduced Zayn in Cena's US title challenge, and that was fun. This will top those crowd pops, I'm sure.

The triumph of the green vs sportsmanship.

BTW That does not mean I like the NHL welfare concept either.

I'm not going but I wish it will end in a way that leaves the fans happy. Like It would be cool if Sami and Roman end the night with one belt. They have been wanting to split the belts for a while. Then you have Roman vs Cody for one of the belts at Mania and Sami against one of the Usos for the other belt. Hell pull a Daniel Bryan and have Sami face the three other members of the Bloodline at Mania.

I expect it'll end with Roman keeping both belts (either by winning, or by DQ), Sami getting beat up and KO making the save leading to Sami / KO vs Usos for the tag titles at WrestleMania.

Fans go home happy seeing the two local guys standing tall at the end, and WWE still gets Cody vs Roman for both belts (ps Cody sucks)

Yea it's the WWE, they for sure are going to go with the predictable root of Usos vs KO/Sami. I just wished they would go with something a little more exciting.
