It kind of went under the radar but the Broncos just hired Pete Carmichael from the Saints. He’s basically Payton’s right hand man on offense (at least historically). Mike Klis tweeted out that the hiring could lead to Taysom Hill coming to the Broncos. I don’t usually think much of Klis’s tweets because they’re usually pretty vanilla but this is an actual juicy one. Klis doesn’t usually toss stuff out of left park and most of the time his info is so bland that I think it comes from the Broncos themselves….But Hill’s deal apparently has two years left at $10M and none of it is guaranteed. Apparently the Saints are in a pretty bad spot as well cap wise…..will be interesting to see what happens. A rookie QB and Taysom or even Taysom and Stidham?
Yeah but the guy isn't worth more than maybe 2m a season. He was criminally overpaid by Payton before, not sure what the excuse will be when he gets overpaid again.

I don't even watch basketball and I know this is a bull shit lie.

I read something that he wants Denver to retire his number.

Some more cintext

So, I’m not about to rebuild. I’m not going to rebuild after we done went to the Western Conference Finals. We’re supposed to be building, not rebuilding. And I went to them. I’m like, “I don’t want to go, but if y’all going to rebuild, it’s time for me to go somewhere else.”

It's pretty comical how much Jokic and Luka hates playing in the All-Star game

Yeah earlier this year he was spouting out some tin foil-hat bullshit about how they handed Joker his old number out of spite because somehow even then the Nuggets knew they had a generational talent on their hands.

Boy I was fairly neutral about his less-than-amicable departure before but this guy can go get f***ed. I’m not here at all for him desperately trying revisionist history in the only market where he was relevant and one he essentially spat on en route to a dismal run with the Knicks.

There are two ways he should have handled that: “I’d like to have my number retire, but what can you do?” and/or say it’s an honor sharing a number with one of the all time greats.

English, Thompson and Mutumbo left messily and they all made it to the rafters, but Melo blew up whatever detente it looks like he was trying during the summer.

Or pretty much anyone else in it. Their teammates get a nice needed vacation where they get to go to Cancun or wherever while these guys have to go pretend to play basketball in Indy. Of course, the NBA isn't going to end it when you can sell out a building at a premium price for 2 nights and can get a spot for your sponsors to show up but really all these games are just dumb. The international stars just see it for the money grab it is since they don't grow up with it or see it in their local sports. I think the NFL has finally figured this out with the screw around activities they do for the Pro Bowl but even that has the caveat that the season's over for everyone out there and a lot of bonuses are tied to that so guys have some reason to be there.

Maybe the solution for the NBA is to have 4 or 5 days off where they celebrate basketball overall, hosting some big college and high school games on NBA floors with national TV audiences plus highlight some international leagues and stuff. Have the star players show up on the sidelines and have them on the broadcasts. Can still have a dunk and 3-point contest, open it up to all levels and both sexes. Imagine a high schooler getting a chance to beat a pro in a dunk contest. That's more interesting than the use of nobodies loosely tied to NBA teams trying to win it.

They either already told him that his jersey's not goin up there...or this moron actually believes that throwing another tantrum will somehow move the organization towards putting it up there.

I really hope it's the former, and that when Melo called Josh Kroenke about it, Josh damned near had a heart attack because he fell on the floor laughing so hard.

Dude retires with $410m lifetime earnings and still wants to be a dick. Hopefully the Kroenkes eliminated him from all welcome back lists. I think true Nuggets fans saw the past stars they wanted to see on the sidelines of last year's Finals and Melo wasnt one of them. Good riddance, at this point Josh should tell him buh bye.
