Who could the Nuggets have acquired? Maybe Bruce gets bought out and wants to come back, about all the Nuggets could hope for as an upgrade. Yeah a couple guys aren't working out and they are stuck with them but none of them were anything close to core players.

Sounds like they missed out on or f***ed up any of the trades they had on the board and the other teams danced with a different partner
1. Instead of attaching three draft picks to dump Reggie Jackson, they should have used those picks to dump Jalen Pickett and Hunter Tyson.
2. Use that open roster spot to retain Justin Holiday
3. Instead of signing Spencer Jones, retain Jay Huff on a two-way
4. Instead of signing PJ Hall, retain Collin Gillespie on a two-way
Those were all easily doable moves this offseason and they would've given us 8 million in expiring contracts rather than an extra year of Pickett and Tyson, and we'd still be under the 2nd apron.
Then your lineup is
Murray/Westbrook/Jackson/Gillespie
Braun/Holiday/Strawther/Alexander
Porter/Watson
Gordon/Cancar/Nnaji [Holmes injured]
Jokic/Huff/Jordan/Saric
That doesn't even require the foresight to know how absolutely washed Saric is.
Then tonight your guard rotation would have been Jackson, Gillespie, Braun, Holiday, and Strawther instead of Braun, Strawther, Pickett, and nobody.
Bruce can't sign here because they're above the 1st apron.
I think the TDL was fine because there wasn't a move out there that would move the needle much. If people are pissed about that, I think they're stupid.
If people are pissed because of the prior moves Booth had made to put them in this position to begin with, that's very reasonable.

Bruce would have been nice but yeah his deal is above 12.8m. Not that he moves the needle that much, Nuggets just going to have to roll with what they got and if it's all healthy it's still as good as any team out there.
For as much as we don't trust MPJ he's been really good this year and we haven't had him contribute much in many rounds of the playoffs in years past. He's sort of like Nuke, can't win a title without him but understandably no one trusts him to deliver then.
I was 100% expecting MPJ to shit the bed last night. I'm shocked how well he played. MPJ seems like he's moving into the spot as the 2nd best offensive player on the team. Jamal is our dead weight now........And as much as Strawther gets picked on defensively, dude is clearly in the process of maturing into an NBA regular. I'm excited about 2026 for Strawther - he seems to be turning a corner.
I think Jamal is taking it easy and he really needs to give up on the 3s. It's not his range. The stuff he does well translates to playoff basketball, especially late game execution. I say just make sure he's healthy come April and accept that his health was a part of why this team had such s mediocre start.
PS2 won DPOY. I consider that an MVP level award (I think Lawrence Taylor is the ony defensive player who's ever won the MVP). He's the fourth guy in Denver to take home that level of honor in a year (Jokic, MacKinnon and Travis Hunter).

A college football award is not even close to the same level as an NFL/NBA/NHL MVP.
