NFL OT rules might be worse than 3v3
They are so bad. Let’s battle 60 minutes and then let a coin flip determine if one team doesn’t even get a shot.

FTR I don't like the NCAA version of it either. There has to be a better way. They are so bad. Let’s battle 60 minutes and then let a coin flip determine if one team doesn’t even get a shot.
I'll take the NCAA OT rules over NFL all day thoughFTR I don't like the NCAA version of it either. There has to be a better way.
It’s the football equivalent of a shootout to me. I don’t care for it but I agree it’s better than the NFL version.I'll take the NCAA OT rules over NFL all day though
That's a good comparison but at least it involves the whole team and just 4-5 players on each sideIt’s the football equivalent of a shootout to me. I don’t care for it but I agree it’s better than the NFL version.
I mean the Bengals offense is the best in the league for me. They've been dumping on everyone they've played this year and unlike the other best offenses in the league bar Washington they don't have essentially any defensive support. So yeah it sucks that the defense wasn't great, but Cincy was always going to put up points.Folks are dumping on Nix but the pass defense just really sucked that game. Was checking out the PFF scores for each player - the worst 3 defensive performances were ALL by our defensive backs. Nik Bonnito was also shut down the entire game and nowhere to be heard from.
The only way we win that game with such a porous defense is to get into a shootout with Joe Burrow/Chase/Higgins. That’s a terrible way to win against the Bengals and really unfair to ask from Bo Nix as a rookie starter. Our running game was non-existent outside of McLaughlin. TEs were again horrible. There just wasn’t much there.
And I will say that the defense also did its part. You can't expect to contain EVERY team, especially a team as dangerous as the Bengals.I mean the Bengals offense is the best in the league for me. Yup. They didn't start with the ball in OT and got two possessions. Which resulted in 6 yards and like 70 seconds taken off the clock. The offense was nothing but putrid in OT.And I will say that the defense also did its part. You can't expect to contain EVERY team, especially a team as dangerous as the Bengals.
They sacked Burrow 7 times, forced and recovered 1 fumble, and stopped them on 4th down twice while holding a third time in the red zone for a FG instead of a TD.
Against almost every other team, that kind of defensive performance ends with a W. Against Burrow, Chase, Higgins and co. It ends in an overtime L.
No one is talking about it, but Joe Burrow has had a really good year. And I will say that the defense also did its part. You can't expect to contain EVERY team, especially a team as dangerous as the Bengals.

People keep saying it's a two-horse race for MVP between Allen and Jackson, but Burrow really should be in contention. No one is talking about it, but Joe Burrow has had a really good year.
Over 4600 yards (1st in NFL)
42 pass TDs (1st in NFL)
Only 8 INT
70% completion %
QBR and Rating at the top of the league
Good QB, good team. 7 of the Bengals 8 losses were by one score or less. 7 of their 8 losses also against playoff teams. If they make the playoffs, no one is going to want them in the Wild Card round.
Lots of people have been talking about it. How many teams lose 3 games where they score more than 30? He's super elite and always has been when healthy. The only reason he won't win MVP is because Josh Allen is having a great year AND his defense is helping him get wins. Burrow is like Jokic right now, the best there is despite getting zero help from his line and, up until a few weeks ago, his defense. And his kickers have cost him games too. If you wanted to pick who is the best in the game right now it's Burrow and it's not even close. No one is talking about it, but Joe Burrow has had a really good year.

He has almost 1,000 more passing yards than Allen and almost 700 more than Jackson.
13 more passing TDs than Allen and 3 more than Jackson.
Now, both of those guys rush more and have more TDs on the ground so they make up for it there, but IMO it's a 4-horse race between these three and Barkley.
7 games into this new 12 team CFB format. We have 6 blowouts, 1 good game.
