Not surprise or angry. Bulls have not had any luck in the lottery since Rose. The only time they've moved up was in the Pat Williams.

Bulls are on the highway to nowhere with no exits.

Guess Pope Leo was too busy to help out with the draft lottery.

And sheesh, a crappy organization gets rewarded. Oh well, he'll probably bust as a Dukie anyway.

Guess MLB is too financially beholden to degeneracy to have a moral stand against it anymore when it actually does impact the on-field aspect of the game.

Jackson was involved in a fix that screwed over his teammates not on the take. What he did during the series or playing up how much of an idiot he was doesn't excuse that. And Rose is such a pathological liar, I don't get how anyone remotely believes his claims that he a) never bet against his team or b) didn't let his gambling impact his managerial decisions in any way.

That ended the moment the Hall put Ty Cobb in the HOF. Or Cap Anson. Or Bobby Cox. Tom Yawkey. So MLB and the HOF has never had any morals when it comes who gets into Cooperstown.

MLB has had plenty of dirtbags, but at the very least they had a hard line drawn on not tolerating it when it impacted the product on the field.

Who was a worse human being, Cobb vs Rose is up for debate (and Rose has a couple major skeletons in his closet that make me think I'd personally never vote for him for that alone). Who did something that more structurally threatened the game of baseball, though? Absolutely Rose, so screw him.

I get the betting on the field being a no-no but my line was drawn at racism (Anson, Cobb, etc) wife beaters (Cox, etc). I would feel better about the HOF if these people were not in it.

I suggest you look into cobbs history regarding his biography author if you arent aware. I don’t think he was very racist at all.
I won't go that far (I think he was more of a product of the time instead of the prejudiced views being ingrained) but I do think he's complicated to say the least. He was definitely a dirty player.

I guess what I meant is, his racism was very much overstated by a writer with a vendetta. He was probably as racist as everyone else was back then which is pretty racist

Cubs @ Sox starting today. A 3-day weekend of 1:20 starts. Day baseball is the best.

PCA is so awesome. I honestly didn’t think the hitting was ever going to click for him.

I love speedy baseball players.
I don't know how long we will have this version of him but we need to treasure it as long as we do. I don't think the Cubs have had a true five-tool talent like him in my lifetime. If he can develop a more selective approach at the plate he could actually be this dude long-term.
