Yep. The Chicago Cubs aren't a family beef joint. We shouldn't be adding young talent and paying other teams to take our star outfielder. It should be a yes and situation. Pay through the nose. The Mets, the Dodgers, the Yankees and the Cubs. I shouldn't know Belli is on the way out in November.
Ricketts is a total f***ing fraud. Just another in a long line of greedy pieces of shit. Crying poor mouth and pretending like they are a small market team? GTFO.

The solution is very simple. Just stop giving them money. But Chicago fans will never learn.

Crying poor, but then donated a couple hundred thousand dollars for some Trump campaign thing recently. Randomly saw that the same day he recently made a comment about spending money on the team.

While he might not be the worst Chicago sports team owner, he might be my personal most hated Chicago sports team owner. Even the Bears owners are less maddening to me vs Ricketts.

The Cubs got a title and the Ricketts are more interested in relaxing than they are in trying to be one of the big dogs.

Fact of the matters is that the Cubs, Wrigley, and Wrigleyville are all absolute mints. Basically every team in the majors except for two or three would kill to be in the Cubs' fiscal position. By all metrics, this should be a team willing and able to spend like crazy to extend and enhance windows and access shortcuts to reduce the length of rebuilds.

Instead, we seem content standing mostly pat in a very winnable division while playing hardball with the one kind of big acquisiton over relative pennies before avoiding arbitration.

He's just a greedy POS.
