Power rankings are meaningless, who cares?

Expectations are low. Over my lifetime, that's when they've been most successful. Let the games begin...

Honest question:

Why do you still root for the team if the owner doesn’t care about the fans and/or trying to win championships? Why waste your time and/or $? Why cheer for an organization that isn’t in it to win it?

It’s one thing to be bad. Lots of teams can have bad teams/bad seasons….but generally it’s because they did all the could and it just didn’t pan out.

The White Sox DO NOT do all they can. They don’t(because of ownership) give their fans their best/maximum effort at assembling a championship caliber team.

I can not sit here and root for an organization like this. I just can’t.

Doesn’t that same thing bother you as well? Wouldn’t you as a fan expect more?

Well, do us, and yourself, a big favor then. Stop posting about it.

F off. Just ignore me/block me or whatever it’s called. I’m not gonna stop posting. This is the other sports thread and it’s relevant discussion and legitimate criticism.

Because I'm sick in the head. Been that way since I was about 8 years old.

Thanks for the reminder.

Kopech getting slapped around mercilessly by a double A team isn't a good look.

PCA and Alcantara are going to be stars.

Kopech.. still waiting on the promise given the hype.. has not proved anything to anyone yet. GETS hamnered when his stuff just flattens out or he loses concentration..

I said all along Kopech was dog piss. The Red Sox won the Sale trade and Sales been damaged goods for what, three years?

Let's be realistic - the White Sox are an injury prone team. They have only one elite talent in Timmy Anderson and one solid player in Vaughan and a bunch of question marks.

Robert, Eloy, Moncada, Kopech, and you can even throw Lynn in that damaged goods dumpster the Sox have manifested and when Clevinger is your number two starter nothing good is going to come out of it.

They're going to be lucky if they're a 500 team. They either let the heart and soul of the team walk or he took the first chance he could to get away from the tire fire in abreu. I don't blame him.

And the sad thing is, there's nothing in the minors. Even the low levels are barren of talent. They had the worst system in baseball two years running them moved up to 26 on the teams behind them graduating prospects and Colas, a guy who wouldn't crack the Cubs top ten prospects, raking as an borderline over ager last year in AA.

The Sox had their shot and blew it. They really need to start thinking retool or rebuild.

First Cubs rock Kopech...then Clevinger gets rocked by Cubs...Not exactly encouraging or that they are "ready" for starters of season..Yikes!

Opening day today. I'm excited and hopeful. And per HF50's point - the Sox rotation looks volatile right now. It has the potential to be awesome. But you can also see it goeing sideways and fast. And as usual with Rick Hahn built teams, there's little to no depth behind it if anything goes wrong.

I agree with someone else who is excited about Wesneski. That trade with the Yankees could be a steal.

Cubs slapping around Corbin is a hell of a lot more impressive then what they did against White Sox pitching.

Feeling good
