I can't think of a situation like this in any of the major sports since I started following.

This is like the opposite of what the Indians did in "Major League"

Are we allowed to talk about the local sports talk radio scene? Lots of hacks on the air these days, I might have to go back to siriusxm.

Marcellus Wiley used to entertain me when Max was around, but now that hes gone he is just a total hack to me. You can tell he does no show prep or cares about facts.

I liked listening to Thompson and Trudell in the mornings but now screamin A is on for two hours.

Im hot and cold on Mason and Ireland. Nothing on 570 really appeals to me.

Sorry to vent here. LA deserves better

Pretty empty stadium for the Rams home opener on Sunday. Apparently tickets were going for $6.

Dodgers finally win. These ****ing Gnats always bring their A-game against LA no matter how far apart the two teams are from each other in the standings.

And I will take the hit from people who made fun of the Rams attendance on Sunday. That was embarrassing. No excuses. But hopefully that win will help boost up the attendance in the next home game.

I have spent my last dime on the coliseum. It is a terrible football experience from the parking to the seating to the sight lines, and then the fight to go home.

It should have been torn down and rebuilt 25 years ago, but now, it's going to be used as a host stadium for the olympics - again! Yippeee!!!

USC still has to deal with this white elephant - forever.

And when the Rams announced that due to the recent heavy rains that they will "have to" add another full year onto the construction schedule for their new stadium, they will go one more year without my money.

There was a proposal years ago to fully renovate the Coliseum. Effectively rebuild it from the ground up but keep the old Olympic facade. But the proposal got blocked by the Rose Bowl commission. lol

While the Coliseum will be used again in the Olympics, there will be the new stadium debuting in time for it. I bet it won't hold the major events.

It will host track and field so, yes, it will hold the biggest events.

New stadium is not large enough to handle track and field.

I think the Coliseum is getting renovated in 2019, no?

Even with a new stadium I think the Rams will have a hard time drawing crowds, unless they some how become a contender. If Goff doesn't pan out, they're screwed for awhile.

I wonder if we've passed Peak NFL. Ratings are down again. The Coliseum wasn't the only near empty Stadium last weekend. The Chargers are having problems selling out the 27K capacity Stub Hub Center.

But it seems like fantasy football is higher than ever.

So much more difficult to sit through commercials on a Thursday/Sunday/Monday Night game after getting used to the Sunday morning blitz of Red Zone.

Might just be that we are past Peak Sports. Everything can be whittled down to a Twitter GIF. SportCenter is more about what an athlete has on their Instagram than actual highlights.

Yep. I stopped watching it when it turned into a media show than what it started out as, showing highlights. All the major sports networks now have segments completely devoted to social media.

Real good back and forth college football game between Memphis and UCLA this morning.

Robert Woods should be watching the next game from the press box. 1 rec, 6 yards, and 25 yards in penalties on the same drive. And he drop a td in the endzone.

I'll tell you why the Chargers Can't even fill up their 27K-seat soccer stadium. $100 for parking! And we're talking about a stadium where there is absolutely no public transportation.

That is simply stupid, greedy, and insulting to the fans. Hopefully they continue to play in front of an empty stadium and lose loads of money.

To be fair, the $100 is for two lots directly next to the stadium. More parking is available for $40 at lots further away. $40 is still a high price to be sure, but it isn't all $100.

Not mentioned is the following:

-Free shuttle from the Del Amo Blue Line Station that is 3.5 miles away. Easy access to the game for anyone coming from Long Beach/LA etc.

-Uber/Lyft/etc...drop off at an elementary school that is 0.8 miles away from the front gate of the stadium.

If you don't want to pay $100, it's pretty easy not to do so. Biggest issue would be that using the Metro is not an option for those coming from OC and San Diego but, really, this story about $100 parking is failing to mention the alternatives.

I don't give two ***** about the Chargers but let's not pretend like the Rams parking situation/game experience was all roses last season. Parking would fill up quickly and then you'd get gouged at off-site lots. I parked for $10 at a lot near Staples and took the Metro to the game. Easy on the way in but the line to get back on after was so insane that my buddy and I decided to just walk all the way back to Staples.

Point of the story: both of these teams can't get into the new stadium fast enough. This year delay they have to experience is just brutal.
