I'm not really for a cap in baseball so much, it's a major sport and even smaller markets should be able to turn a profit by trying. Still, it's limited in that it's really only a major sport in the Americas and Japan.

What keeps Soccer so exciting and relevant without a cap is are the other events that go on. In addition to league play, you have domestic cups, Champion's League, Europa League, and so on. Some, like the FA cup in England, are open to teams from nearly all levels, over 700+ across England where some teams in the bottom leagues get matches against teams from the top leagues. The geography and economics are different because of the proximity of a bunch of developed countries, but it would be cool if there were more things like this in baseball. The season could be shortened keeping interest higher with the same revenue coming from other competitions.

It only takes a committed owner to get a club to relevancy. Chelsea and PSG were virtually irrelevant before their billionaires took over.

I think the reason why we may see a cap soon is that players are receiving a declining % of BRR. At one point it is going to be beneficial for the players to guarantee themselves a certain percentage. The MLBPA previously was against it, but we are now seeing teams rely heavily on cheaper, younger prospects and your average player is missing out on their big raise once they become free agents. We have already heard Boras discuss the fact that players are only receiving 47% of revenue, it is only a matter of time in my opinion.

lakers vs mavericks tomorrow: take a look if you can. there's a new kid in town, name luka doncic, age 19, from slovenia, very likely roy 18-19. this kid is a miracle, it's unreal how he plays for his age.

his last game, mavs lost in ot vs spurs: 31-8-4

7 games avg: 20.4 - 6.4 - 4.0

This would seem to suggest that they are close enough to an agreement that they think one can be reached within ~18 hours.

EDIT: Just now realized it says "Friday" and tomorrow is Thursday, so I guess it's more like ~40 hours.

I think he'll stay. I don't know what contender will take him at this point given his post season reputation especially at the money he'll likely command.

This was also posted last night, leads one to think that something like 4/120 will likely be the end result.

For those who don't know, Jeff Passan is probably the most reputable source in the sport.

They mentioned bringing back the entire coaching staff too. What a terrible day for Dodger fans

Okay I'm going to post another video of N'Keal Harry, because this kid is just an awesome talent with awesome size for a wide receiver. Gonna miss watching him in a Sun Devil uniform after this season.
