This was awesome. I thought Unit's perfect game was in Phoenix. Makes this one a bit more special being the only D-backs home no hitter. Last week I was debating getting ticket. Whoops! My cousin lucked into Verlander's first no-no (and first at Comerica Park). His uncle won a pair of tickets to a Tigers game on the radio or at work and just called him up and said "Wanna go to a Tigers game? Won tickets.".

MLB pitchers are similar to goalies in that they often take longer to develop. Young kids might have great stuff, but they don't necessarily know how to pitch. This "kid" is 27. If he can keep his ERA under 4 he'll be a solid starter.

We shall see. Making his debut at 27 I would not expect him to become a star but he might make an honest career. Great story regardless. Hell, if he was a Yankee executives in Hollywood would be greenlighting the biopic. I was just looking at his Baseball Reference page. We share the same birthday and I remember that birthday.

I know next to zero about football strategy, but it seemed like the Cardinals were keeping up with the Vikings based on improvised plays and athleticism rather than clever play selection and execution.

Agree, Murray’s gun sliming, but young. Hes a little too careless, but he’ll get it figured out. There have been many great gun slingers.
Edit: D has to be strong to support them though….. well, if you want to win anyhow.

They utterly overwhelmed the Rams today. Easily Murray's best game of the year, did not make any careless mistakes.
If they didn't have such a brutal remaining schedule, you'd have to make them favorites in the NFC. With that schedule

That's one thing that has impressed me compared to last season. Last season's team would have crumbled in the face of those adversities and be 3-3 right now.

I would opine (and hopefully not be opposed) that Mahomes is a much better passing threat than Murray, but Murray is a better rushing threat, especially when the shit hits the fan. Mahomes is great at scrambling to buy time, but can he just say "f*** it" and gain yards on his own when the play breaks down? Well yes, but Murray does that better.

We'd better take advantage of having an elite dual-threat quarterback sooner rather than later, because that type of player does not usually age well. I don't think I see Murray ever settling into the role of an elite pocket passer who can play until he's 40. Until then? Run with what you've got (often literally with Murray as a rushing threat in his own right).
