Yes in a purely hypothetical situation all we have to go off of is the numbers. But since several people in this thread have posted statistical evidence of how Risto and Foligno are not strong defensive players despite your claims that they are. Why don’t you post evidence that they are good defensively.

Robertson will likely replace Nylander in the playoffs easily when he’s ready. Fourth liners have more than 5 goals in 25 playoff games. Should i go get some numbers of 3 and fourth lines that have more than 5 goals in 25 playoff games. I can do numbers

I listed him on the third pair because that’s what he’d be here. I believe he’s listed as a top pairing on the chart because those are the types of minutes he plays, not because he actually performs as one.
Even without the numbers the eye test would show just how bad he is. He’s played far above his ability in Buffalo, and the team suffers for it.
It’s 1 year UFA for his current contract which affects this season, not his next contract you’re alluding to which will affect next season and beyond.

You do understand 1 goal in 9 games is a lower G/GP than 5 goals in 25 games right?
You also fail to mention he has 15 points in those 25 games as opposed to the 2 whole points Foligno has in his 9 games.
Or how Nylander was second in team scoring in the playoffs last year.

Nylander is tied for second on the team in goals this year.
This is a discussion board, I’m allowed to discuss the topics that come up in any thread. And while doing so I have managed to do it without making personal comments like “shake yer pillow” or “take your meds”
I have no problem with people criticizing my opinions. And certainly don’t respond with childish insults when they do.
